I've submitted a story and it's been rejected with the reason given as "Were there URL links, site addresses, or other advertisements within the story?" I don't know where in my story that trips over this rule and am looking for help in trying to find it. Can anyone give me a hand?

I'm not sure what the official rule is, and couldn't find it in the FAQ. To get the full story, you should send a private message (PM) to Laurel by using the link on the upper right of this page. Make sure you have PMs enabled on your account.

Generally speaking, going by what I've read in the forums, Lit does not allow URLs in stories, especially live ones. You could describe a site and make up a name, I've seen that done, but you can't have a real URL. If your story contained something like that, it might have caught Laurel's eye and resulted in the rejection.

You should look your story over to see if there is anything like that, and if so, fix it. If not, you can resubmit the story, but include an explanation in the "Notes" field about what happened.

From the thread "Rejected story . . ." found in the EF . . .

Were there URL links, site addresses, or other advertisements within the story?

Quite simply, you may not link off-site. You may not put email address in the body of the story--yours or anyone elses. Literotica has email forms in place for your audience to reach you.

Strip out all sites, newsgroups, and email addresses to fix the problem.

I've read other posts where even a fictional URL/e-mail address caused a rejection.

No fake URLs either (even ones that don't lead anywhere), as I once found out.

Thanks, Lynn.

Thanks for the tips but there aren't any URL, fake or otherwise, in my story. I'll try contacting Laurle, thanx.

Yes, do. But do it via the PM system (private message system, top right of this page)--or in sending the rejected story back with a note in the notes box. I've been able to get ones posted as originally sent in the past just by pointing out that the queried problem doesn't exist in the story.
