Need Details

Hello. I'm looking to write a story about a race of "cat people" but I need some ideas. First off what to call the race.

I'd also like ideas for where they would live, another planet? on earth? if on earth where so that they won't be found?

Physical features and maybe some emotional/mental characteristics?

And if anyone can come up with a pic that would really help.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Watch the movie (original please, the remake was sorta dumb). In the movie they are normal until they get sexually aroused or jealous and then they become cats(leopards I think). Maybe it isn't what you are looking for but it has a lot of potential for erotic fiction. I forget how they got that way in the first place, I think they were just a different race or something.

Watch Red Dwarf. Cat on there is the most convincing cat derived sentient I have ever seen.

Do a search and you'll find loads of websites.

There is a sf book from the '80's. Can't find it, must be in one of the boxes in the attic. It deals with catlike people.
You could also borrow from the tv-series with a lionlike man in it.
The Beast, I think it was.

If all else fails, you can always write a slutty version of Belle and the Beast.

Actually Steven King wrote a book called Sleepwalkers. Some movie producers and directors made a movie.
