Since you mention femdom, I assume that there is a woman forcing a man to cross-dress. Another angle I've seen in stories here and in boards proclaiming it to be real life:

Married couple, he's a bit of a slob. She doesn't like it and decides to change things. Either she starts it of her own idea, or you can go with the catching him in panties bit. She converts him at home to do the housework, but makes him wear an apron at first, maybe a lace apron. The progression from there can be as rapid or gradual as you want if you want the story long or short. She makes him grow his hair longer. She works him into lingerie in the house. Legs shaved etc. Wants him tanned, so out come the bikinis and tanning by the pool. Sports bras and hot pants doing some of the yard work. Ultimately she gets him into a full maid's outfit, then into other dresses.

If you want to take it further, (s)he does such a good job housecleaning she loans her/him out to others to clean their houses (dressed of course), maybe even family.

Can be explicit also, but doesn't really have to be.
