The last chapter of my story "Mark Tells His Story" (chapter 7) was posted this morning but it was posted with 9/12/02 as the date. It is showing on page two of the "New stories" near the end of yesterday's listings.

Is there any way to change the date to 9/13 so it shows with today's listings like it should? I am afraid many readers won't see it because they have already read yesterday's posts.

Thanks.

OK .. I know I am new here so I won't get high priority from many and thats OK. I am used to being a "rookie". I did pm Laurel very early yesterday morning and I know the pm was read or deleted sometime yesterday afternoon without any response. I know the admins must get alot of pm's and emails from authors that have been around alot longer than I have and will take a higher priority than me. I can live with that.

Thanks for changing the date from the 12th to the 13th for me even though it was the 14th before you did it so it still never showed in "today's new stories". Because of this, it only got a small fraction of the views that my other chapters have gotten (and is still buried on page two of the "new listings").

I know I am whining so forgive me or ignore me. Either way seems to work.

Just a note

I just finished reading your stories. They're great! I rarely give 5s, but I'll admit to rating one as such!

Know the feeling

Pookie, I have found that it is helpful to be on the first page, but I have learned that not everyone can be.

I have also found that with multiple chapter stories if you have readers that are following your work, they will look for it. Granted you may not bring in as many 'new' readers, but it seems to be the luck of the draw.

I have read Ch 7 and it is without a doubt one of the hottest stories I have ever read. I for one will make sure and look for your new stories.

Thanks for the comments.

My only concern was that the chapter appeared in the "previous" days listings because of the date used. I had a few emails from readers of my previous chapters asking when I was posting the next chapter. They had already looked at the previous day's listings so they did not scan through that section again looking for my new chapter.

I have to admit that I did get the benefit of one of my chapters getting posted with a "future" date. I forget which one it was, but it got posted with the next day's date. Did I pm Laurel about that one? NO! (OK ... so spank me LOL) This caused it to appear in "today's" listings two days in a row. Interestingly, it did not get too many more views than the other chapters. The chapter posted with "yesterday's" date still has only a small percentage of the views as the rest of the chapters. But I got just as much feedback as the rest of the chapters, even though the vote total was lower.

I'm about to post edited versions of both stories eliminating a number of problems (lack of contractions, etc.). I still have much to learn as a writer though and I'm sure there are still problems with the text that I am not noticing. But I'm enjoying putting my stories online for people to read and react to.

This may not br the correct thread to which I direct this question, but you may be able to answerr it...
What happened to the great "Extreme"story section we used to have?
