Need a first read

My muse prompted me to tackle Genesis' "Home by the Sea" a second time ( I've already written one in my fantasy world as Dark )

This story is horror, and it's meant to be extremely disturbing. The language of the narrative and the dialogue is also more harsh and visceral than most of my work. I haven't even first-pass edited it yet, so it may contain some fumble-finger, brain-fart, stream of consciousness writing mistakes, too.

Anybody willing to give it a first read and offer their knee-jerk reaction? I know there are a lot of people who've said to send along anything I need a read on, but this is really dark stuff, and I don't want to drop that on anyone who just isn't going to feel comfortable with it.

I have your email pasted in already, so you might want to edit it out of the post now, before one of the harvester bots comes around to send you mountains of spam.

Any preference for file type? I work in wordperfect, but I can save it in rtf, doc, html, txt - whatever works best. There may be a few artifacts here and there in a transformation, but shouldn't be anything impossible to overcome. I can paste it into an email too, if you'd rather go that route. That will probably nuke the italics, though.
