Need a bit of advice

I have posted a couple of stories on the site and have had a hell of a time when I email the story as an attachment. I write the story in word and then attach it to my email and up it goes. I put in a submission through my portal. Then I get a reject notice saying that my attachment was not received. I have emailed the same way to other email addresses and the story attachment is always there intact.

Is there any special technique to doing this? I have ultimately had to type the whole story in to the upload box and that is a marathon session to say the least. I would appreciate any help as I have a whole bunch of work I would like to post here.

Thanks

The best way to get a story up and get it up quickly is to copy it from a word document and paste it into the story box. I always do it this way, then hit 'Preview' to make sure it all got in there okay and then hit 'Submit'. Have you tried this? It's the quickest, easiest, most sure-fire method I know of.

p.s. Welcome, and enjoy the AH!

You can also upload the Word document from your hard drive.

Prefer this as I don't know the codes to use in straight text.

Or you can cut and paste the story into the submission box.

Cutting and pasting Word is the best method I have found. However, you do need to also check and make sure that all of your paragraph breaks got in.

E-mail it as an attachment?

No, no, no! Go to your member page (login on the home page and that will take you there), and you'll see a "submissions" link. That'll take you to a page made especially for submitting stories & poems by uploading files or cut & pasting.

I didn't even know they accepted stories through e-mail. I never heard of anyone doing it that way.

PM me if you need help.
