Neci, what is this ?

ah, Neci

You know that I am voicing a cry of distress, dismay, and sadness. Which was inevitable. The answer that you gave me, the first time around, was more than sufficient.

A simple and succinct answer.

The Trump rally attendees shout ", Lock Her Up ! Lock Them Up !"

(They will not get anything out of it, but a show and lip service. The foundation that the promises are built on, is as airy as breath. But, everyone has their reasons for being there. Oz moves the Emerald Mountain, to come to Dorothy's hamlet in the middle of Nowhere.)

The Democrats shout ", Lock Him Up ! Lock Them Up !"

All of the strange movements under the surface, give the clues to the unseen underpinnings of what happens on the surface-

"We Don't Talk About That."

:rose:

the mob of chaos and hate seeks to take all those down with it.

giving permission for more hate.

it infects all sides as the fire is fed.

i try to carve out my peace in this world.

you are resilient.

do not let them dull your shine.

Donald Trump and neo-Nazism is happening.

I'm impressed that it has taken this long.

In a salon group I used to attend, one young man remarked that America had, remarkably, never been through a "fascist stage." I could never see why such a thing was inevitable or necessary for every or for any nation. But if it is, at least now we're getting it out of the way, in a form rather more harmless than such stages usually take.

Comedian Joel Stein returns from deep-red Trump country to explain what’s really going on with the true believers

*listens to podcast* (Was nice, to hear the young people have a conversation. Very informative. Thank goodness, somebody has the energy to pursue these stories.)

"Michael Cohen is going to jail as more federal investigations into Donald Trump open up. Will the people who voted Trump into the White House finally see him for who he is? Or will they defend the president until the final, bitter end? Joel Stein, a journalist, author, and comedy writer, who recently spent a week in the most pro-Trump town in America, joins Nick to explain what’s really going on inside the minds of the MAGA true believers."

gsgs comment- This podcast covers so much more, than just the voters from the tiny hamlet of Miama, Texas. (There were dissidents, although the majority voted for Trump.)

The conversation rolls all over the place.

A good point was made, that the people of Miama, TX are not attached to the interwebs by an umbilical chord, like much of the USA. Their world remains much the same as it was in 1950. They are not hyer-vigilant, or hyper-aware of the amount of crime that is committed, worldwide. They carry a rifle or gun, because it is sensible to do so, in their part of the country.

Tradition is part of why they do, what they do.

The town had 159 people that voted for Trump, and that was the majority.

I was born in 1954. Not so long, ago, there was a time in New England, when carrying a rifle or gun was a sensible choice.

As it is, in 2018, sometimes Animal Control kills wildlife, because the option is too dangerous for people.

The rifles and guns are still there, but they are in officially appointed hands.
