Instead of watching the game hoping the commercial breaks give us a re-match of Justin and Janet, after this shocking NBC censorship;

http://www.bild.de/BILD/news/bild-e...s-and-vegetables-too-sexy-for-super-bowl.html

I'll just have to revert to standard lit girl mode and serve the beer and chips in the nude and get skewered by the BF's buddies in the kitchen while he's engrossed. I've always preferred the Colleen T version of football - no stubble rash.:D

I must say the spokesperson for the veggies was a little clueless when she claimed it was double standard to allow commercials for fried chicken and burgers. After all, the reason why they were locked out wasn't because they were too healthy, but because the commercial was too sexual to show to kids. It's not like you see a girl in McDonalds ad masturbate with a french fry.

(Which isn't because McDonalds is too conservative or too prudish, but rather because most girls would look at the tiny fry and say "nah, I might as well fuck my bf/husband", IMHO.)

This is no different than the commercial they tried last year that got banned. It was a mock porno in the old 70s style where the pizza delivery guy shows up at the hot girls' house with the "sausage" they ordered. Unfortunately, he couldn't get it up because, as their message said, meat causes impotence.

So they called in the grocery delivery boy for some cucumbers and carrots.

The Super Bowl refused to air that commercial as well. Whether either one was too explicit or not, I support their decision just because I despise PETA. It's a matter of politics for me.

But they do make some good commercials:D.

PETA has gone so extreme that they have turned a lot of people away

I belong to the original version:
People Eating Tasty Animals
:D :D :D :D

In other words, you're saying you support censorship for political reasons? Are you a resident of the USA? Have you ever heard of the constitution? It appears as though you've chosen the wrong country to live in. Perhaps you would be happier in Iran, where censorship is a given, not an exception.

I think it ridiculous that they'll show the catfight commercial - the one with the two women ripping each other's clothes off - but they won't show vegetable foreplay. Score one for the perpetuation of violence in our culture. (Personally, the catfight commercial is one of my faves, but that's because I realize it's fake, while a child might think it's acceptable behavior.)

Censorship by the government is banned. NBC is a private organization. They're under no obligation to play anything they don't like. PETA has reached the shallow end of the gene pool.

Tell that to the FCC next time a pop star has a "wardrobe malfunction."

PETA is simply taking the American adage "sex sells" and applying it to their message. If they had been selling lingerie, or beer, or diamonds, or Viagra, I suspect their commercial would have aired.

The ad was ok, a few of the models were eye catching but the editing and photography needs work. PETA would do better to go smarter not sluttier, but that's rare in America these days.

Though I do like the way you enjoy the game :D

pure responds: but VM, isn't corporate self censorship even more insidious. they don't want a re play of Janet Jackson. ANTICIPATING the gov't, they hold back. it's insidious. for the gov't simply shakes its fist and companies fall into line; nothing gets to court.

I would love to! The FCC is an unconstitutional comity with powers beyond reason, and no controlling bodies governing over them with checks and balances. They should be torn down and rebuilt with strict guidelines of what they govern, with no control over the actual content of any broadcast.

Instead, all that they should have control over is what stations broadcast oin what signal frequencies, making sure that no one is misusing or abusing the air waves. This whole business of them being able to prosecute and fine broadcasters for foul language, nudity, or any other censorship issues is pure ridiculousness and it needs to be stopped.

But I am not in a position to get it stopped. I really wish I was.

Talk about dumb! Putting Matt Millen in the the studio is an insult to anyone with knowlege of football. His "performance" as the GM in Detraoit will be taught in classrooms as how to destroy a team!

NBC makes money on ads. They don't want anything too controversial because companies will pull their ads.

PETA got exactly what it wanted. A rejected ad and far more exposure than if it had shown during the Superbowl.

Bingo.

Cheaper, too.

Quite brilliant, actually. PETA knew this would happen because they've done the same thing before.

Guys, I have just been snuck a copy of the script for their ad for next year's Superbowl. Don't post this anywhere else or else my friend on the inside will get pissed off and she won't send me any more leaks.

INTERIOR. NIGHT.

<i>Quick fade-in on extreme close-up of woman with a knowing smile. She turns around, drops to her knees and bends down. Camera pans down to display entirely naked body, stopping and zooming in on spread buttocks and fully exposed and well-lubricated anus and vulva. She inserts large cucumber into vulva, begins masturbating and crying out in immense pleasure, while her well-manicured middle finger begins to apply firm pressure to her anus.</i>

NARRATOR: Meat is murder.

Fade to black.
