I have heard that it takes up to six months to heal from a naval piercing. Anyone here have experience with that...how bad did it hurt? I think they are adorable, but I had my nose done and that hurt like a mofo.

i've had mine done 3 times and they always got infected. i finally gave up.

My belly button is very sensitive. I wear the lower cut jeans/pants for that reason. Im afraid that I would go through that pain and then not be able to tolerate the healing process. They are darned cute though.

Sorry it didnt work out for you.

One more question....was it so painful that you could not stand it? Did you use any topical anesthetic? Were you sober...lol. I really am curious.

I have had my belly ring for a very long time. It does not hurt. A pinch. Betadine was what I used. You don't turn the belly ring too much. But apply the Betadine. Puss will form, but that is normal.

Mine didn't hurt much after the third day... used the lotion the piercer gave me and it was just fine... still gets a bit sore sometimes if I catch it though...

but yes it took about 4 months to "heal" to the point I could change the bar.

I spent 6 months on an CV and never once saw a naval piercing.
Know a few people with navel piercings though.
