Silas, Edgar, and Marcus Pygg had started their construction business five years ago in the small town near the lake. Each man had control of a certain location. Silas had control over the location near the far end of the woods where they were clearing space for construction of some log cabins and a dock for a large boat. Edgar was in control of the location near the elementary school on Third Street where a new suburb was being built for new tenants. Marcus, the oldest, was in control of the main location in the business district of the city. You would think with all this, their problems would be few. They had one big problem by the name of B.B. Wolf. The man was a collector for the mob that happened to have control over a lot of the real estate business in this area.
Every now and again, he would come around demanding money from the three as ‘protection money’. Silas, Edgar and Marcus were not violent men, just hard workers that had scraped for everything they had. It was deemed not worth the damage it would cause to incur the wrath of these people so they gave in, paying B.B. his money and said a small prayer that it would be longer before he came back around again. Time went on and the three brother worked at their business, earning a reputation as being dependable and fair men. They received a letter saying that their niece, Kristie, was coming for a visit.
Marcus was concerned because it had been a while since their last payment to the mob. No one wanted to see Kristie get involved, even by accident. They agreed that Kristie was too sheltered from this as much as possible. Their niece was a lovely woman with lovely curves that had gotten the attention of some not so nice guys in the past. She had even said that she seemed to be a magnet for the wrong kind of man. Marcus met his niece at the train station and immediately was mowed down by a hug. He just chuckled to himself. The girl was just like their sister, vivacious ad full of life. What should have been a happy occasion soon became a living nightmare for all 3 of the Pygg brothers.
That night at dinner, someone knocked rather rudely and Kristie was the one who answered the door. The man at the door was a rather good-looking guy but Kristie didn’t trust him. He looked her up, he looked her down and gave this wolfish grin that made her knees go weak. He snapped his fingers and one guy grabbed her mouth to keep her quiet. Another guys forced her to walk towards the car with a gun in her back. Marcus found the front door to their home wide open and a note taped to the door. His face went pale as he handed it to the other two.

I will be taking something else in lieu of payment this time. I will be gentle with her. …..B.B. Wolf.
