"Precious Cargo: California Indian Cradle Baskets and Childbirth Traditions," on display through Oct. 30 at the Museum of History and Art in Ontario, explores tribal beliefs and practices regarding childbirth and examines the use of cradle baskets among California's Pomo and Western Mono peoples.
The exhibition includes historic photographs and artifacts, as well as cradle baskets created by 30 California Indian weavers commissioned for the exhibition.
When: On display through Oct. 30. Museum hours: Wednesdays through Sundays, 12 to 4 p.m.
