Bears Ears national monument will be reduced by up to 90% and Grand Staircase monument by 50% in the first wave of monuments that have been created by Clinton, Bush, and Obama being opened back up for development, ranching, off road motor use, mining, etc. Several other monuments are also on the list to be reduced or eliminated.

I find this very sad. One of the only things I've agreed with Clinton, Bush or Obama on, has been these monuments. Disappointing, but I don't blame Trump. He has to placate his rural base. If people in cities and suburbs weren't such politically stupid imbeciles and refusing to support him or other Republicans, they wouldn't need to pander to these rural yahoos. Shame on urban Americans for their stupid voting patterns.

The land wasn't seized. It was already Federal property, mostly BLM, that was transferred to NPS. And most of that land is agriculturally non-productive. Ranchers only find it usable (up to its ruination) with massive federal welfare support. With the West deep in another drought cycle, it's even less usable. Mines require waivers for environmental damage and employ few. Whereas NatMons draw tourists sustainably. Disestablishment is bad business.

It was seized in that it was taken out of public use and the seizure cancelled an existing mining claim which the president stated he wanted to shut down. So your assertion is bullshit.
