National Emergencies .....

That all hinges on RBG. If her health forces her to step down from the court while Trump is still in office, the court will be tipped far enough right for the inevitable legal challenges to have a high probability of succeeding, stopping any effort to do a tit-for-tat emergency declaration until another justice dies or steps down.

For now, the nuclear option tit-for-tat started by the Democrats is the "bite them in the ass" in current force. It's going to do far more than bite if RBG passes away or steps down, regardless of who's in control of the White House, Senate, or House in January 2021. The Republicans can afford to lose a couple of the moderates they've had to appease up until now, with the gains in the Senate after the midterms. So it's going to take someone kicking up an even bigger firestorm than the one around Kavanaugh to prevent smooth sailing into the court.

Roberts is the wild card now. I suspect he'll side with legal challenges to an emergency declaration from either side, but you never know. If he does side with a legal challenge to a Trump declaration, it sets precedent that takes that option off the table for any Democrat in White House for the foreseeable future, even if RBG is eventually replaced by another left-leaning justice, keeping the more or less balanced court in place.
 
It's amusing that the guy who complained that making Election Day a holiday would be a "Power Grab" is totally ok with the President nullifying Congress for personal power.

Since Parkland, there has been a school shooting on average, once every 12 days. This is a fact no one can argue. For the money provided by Congress to "build that wall that Mexico will pay for", we could have metal detectors placed in every public school and man them with security guards. Again, this is a fact no one can dispute. Yet...safety of our kids is not a National Security issue. The hypocrisy of the right is pathetic.

Be assured...every "victory" the right wins now, we will dismantle in 2 years. Every....single....one. Suck on that assholes.

People, many people die every day. By guns (mainly self inflicted), sure, car accidents, way more. Usually drunk driving. But you know that right?

House fires, airplanes, buses, natural occurances, acts of God and nature, carbon monoxide, suicide, abortions, stupid parents dragging their kids across a desert.... the list goes on. Where is the outrage?

Those teeny, tiny guns that scare you.

More money for mental health issues and alcoholism. Asshole.

... and remember who cheered this sort of lawlessness. Now they make noise that sounds like if TRUMP does this, then a Democrat could too, ignoring the fact that it was the Democrat who cared not for law or constitution
