National Beer Day

I was just about to head over to the What Are You Listening To thread with this one, and then I saw this thread ... hey, if anyone knows how to celebrate a day like this, it's these guys.

I REFUSE to limit my appreciation of the amber nectar to a SINGLE DAY! Anthropologists tell us that agriculture was created to insure a steady, reliable source of beer!

During the ages when drinking water was poisoned by all forms of deadly bacteria, the brewing of beer insured a safe source of drinking liquid. Beer saved humanity!

I like beer, it makes me a jolly good fellow...
That song should be on the lips of everybody!

I celebrated with two separate trips to my fave watering hole, having one glass each time. Now the first one was hardly what I call beer - Mich Ultra (draught), flavored water as far as I am concerned - but the relatively inexperienced and young bar owner seems to be listening too much to her liquor distributor about IPAs, and everything else she has on tap is heavy and bitter. Second trip was for a bit of mutual business, so while I was there I had a bottle of the one import she keeps in the cooler.

She's great with the mixed drinks, fancy cocktails, and popular distilled spirits, but she and I need to have a chat about basics.
