Well, it's fast approaching that time of year again, when crazies all over the world sit down and pound out a novel, in one month.

What? I hear you cry! Ok, so it's not a long novel, but 50,000 words is a great target. By writing just under 2,000 words a day, you CAN write a novel in a month.

November is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). For the two previous years I have done this, and produced some of the best stuff I've ever written (in my opinion), and a crowd here at the AH has joined me in both years.

It really is a sure-fire way to get you on the road to writing a novel. Some finish, others don't. Some blow the rest of us out of the water (Colly?), but others take a more steady-paced approach. ;)

It is NOT a competition, but merely a personal challenge, and one which I find very personally rewarding.

To find out more, go HERE

Interested? If so, let me know. I'm not sure if I can organise things here as I did the past two years (tables of progress, etc, etc), but time permitting, I will try.

The most important thing is to write, and enjoy writing! :)

I'm in.

(already have my storyline plotted out, character sheets done, etc., so maybe I can actually finish this year)

So try. No harm if you don't finish, after all.

I'm in. When I was able to work at it, I was doing 2000-3000/day - that's when I had my own office and could work at my, 'job' :p

I checked out the 'no plot? no problem.' book from the library yesterday, the one by the guy that started this.

Basically you too through neglecting your life can write a novel .... I wonder how much maid service for a month is.

Actually there are some goodtips for how to find the time, how to go about it, and most importantly how mot to overprepare ;)

I'm going to do it. I have very little leg work done, but I'm going to try it that way. My last novel attempt got bogged down in research.

This year my 'research' I have half the main characters named. I want to have them all named by the start of writing ;)

Duh! I'm in!

I've got the synopsis written, the character charts loaded, and all I'm waiting for is November 1st.

LOL.

Not sure if I am in yet.

for those who haven't tried it, it's fun and not nearly as hard as you make i tout to be in your head :)

I'm in. I've watched Lou from the sidelines for a few years now and this time I'm jumping into the field of play. Have even written a mini-synopsis, which is a scary amount of planning for me.
