I strongly belive that nancy pelosi is the axis of evil. She is the democrats version of George Bush. How can she bitch about excess when she’s flying around in her own personal 757 that we pay for? She struck down this bill for her gain and guess what she will come out with her own plan! Why? Cuz she is so out to destroy George Bush. Granted, does anyone thing that George Bush is smart? I'm 100% for free markets and after spending time in x communist states (but that is another story). The CEO payout of some of these banks (and Freedie Mac and that other for the other goverment) how and why can a public ceo get a check for 100 million when he/she destoryed a company?

I'm torn on this one, ceo pay. being self employeed for many years how can the goverment tell me what i should earn. however, I never had any stock holders.

This bill deserved to die simply because it did not attack the roots of the problem...it merely followed the government cure-all solution...throw money at it and it will go away. Kramer said that the deal was a good one, and that the tax payer would make money on it. sure, Kramer is a bit of a nut but he's a smart guy. what was wrong with the deal? did the deal purchase bad debts from banks? did the deal put money into the banking world? would the deal shore up some banks?

Plus, the Republicans insist on adding a repeal-of-capital-gains rider to it, which has nothing whatsoever to do with this bail out but which has been on the fatcat wish-list for eons. Seeing how they held all the cards, they insisted on it now, and being refused, they torpedoed the bail out, preferring to see the country go down the tubes rather than lose their fortunes.

The Republican House is sticking it to Bush and McCain both and staking their claim right now to the economic far right. This is making McCain look very bad but they don't give a shit.
