I was talking just a bit ago, with another Lit member, and we stumbled on the subject of the nick names used here on the boards. She was expressing that she'd like to change hers as she didn't put much thought into it. That got me wondering about everyone else. How did you come up with your names? Some, like mine, are pretty self explanatory. I, admittingly, lack the creative juices to come up with a great nick name. So, instead I just used my real first name. Anyone using a nick name they were given IRL that might have a cute/cool story behind it?

As always, I apologize if this is a question that may have been posed before I became a member, or one that happened to escape my viewing.

NO CREATIVITY IN THIS NAME

I saved the creativity for the stories and poetry. I chose to use my real name that I use when I submit stories.

Wait a second...

You mean we were supposed to make up a name? ;)

Seriously, my handle comes from my early adolescent days, back when the paragon of humor was making prank phone calls with double entendre phony names like Pat McCrotch, Ben Dover, and Jack Meoff. My all-time favorite, though, was Oliver Clozoff and every once in awhile when in a goofy mood, I still use it when I introduce myself to a patient.

And people say doctors have poor senses of humor... ;)

Mine is fairly simple and not very creative. Just add Julia to Angel, drop one of the a's and you get Juliangel.

Totaly lacking i imagination or forsight

Mine is after a crappy piece of software.

Thrilling is it not?

Mine comes from my fondness for Steely Dan. Gaucho was their last studio album until this year's "Two Against Nature".

One of my favorite D&D characters. 147th level ranger/assassin/mage. 1st ED. Then again, I'll bet none of you know what the hell I'm talking about.

Expertease, I thought you got your name from your... well, all-powerful way of making people think... with a smile on their face. :)

I know what you are talking about, I love D&D although I have never mangaged to reach a level that high. Gee that is how I thought he got his name too!

MY OLD NAME

I began posting on this site under the name of #1derfulGuy. I got the name from a wrestler of the 80's. He was self proclaimed, Mr. #1derful. So I thought that it was a cool name at the time. Sinister Minister isn't so bad right now either (though not as good as Justin Credible).

It was an accident!!!

Your going to laugh at this but my name was an accident. When I first registered I wanted to post at the X-Men thread in the Sexual Role-Playing board and thought that the part were they ask you what your user name will be I thought they meant your characters name for the thread. SO I put in Renegade because that was the name of the character I had created for the thread and now I'm stuck with it... but it has grown on me.:)
