This is so cool. I never knew Chesty Morgan was in burlesque for some reason. Always remember her in posters growing up, but just thought she had big tits. :D Gypsy Rose Lee and Josephine Baker are both givens, as one was immortalized in a musical, and the other immortalized in records. Have no idea who the rest are though.

It's too bad burlesque has gone by the wayside. I find it much more intriguing.

Not entirely true, Charley. Here in Toronto there are a couple of burlesque troupes operating.

Check the weekly alternative newspapers. They appear about once a month somewhere around town.

Josephine Baker was obvious, the rest I didn't even try to guess at.

I have heard tell of Burlesque making a revival, but somehow I'm thinking it'll never quite make it all the way down here. Go see a show for me, will ya? :)

Brrr. Sorry, that shot of "Tempest Storm" is one of the least attractive images of a woman I have seen in a long time. She looks ... creepy.

Well, I know there was a burlesque revue a few years ago, and it was revived to some degree. As I check out the back pages, I'm not certain the brass rail cuts it ;) Which section RG?

Josephine Baker was as famous in her time as Madonna is in ours.

She was seen as the sexy embodiment of American women of the Jazz age but was not appreciated in the US. The French (and visiting Brits) watched and wondered why the US couldn't see what they were missing.
