Have you ever heard her dialog in the Profile section of Soul Calibur 3?
The dominatrix feel, with references to death, makes her a good candidate for a "Black Widow" succubus (drains victim of youth, and kills him when he's at his weakest).
The new dark voice she has is also disturbingly sultry.

When Soul Calibur 2 came out, I heard sexual overtones and double entendres in everybody's dialog, so I just had to write a sexual story with it.
I asked Namco if I could do this and they said no.
I even asked the voice actors, and they weren't too happy about what I was proposing.
Some were even offended (possibly because minors were in it).
Ok, now Soul Calibur 3 is out, and the dialog is still suggestive, but not as sexual, so if they were to let me write a story about them, it would only be mildly suggestive.
If Namco agrees with my idea, I would like some help with this story (audio included).
I have never done audio before, so even if they agreed, it probably wouldn't be for a while.

I don't have PS3 so I don't know about Soul Calibur 4.

By the way, in case you didn't know, her name is Isabella Valentine (I.V.).

They aren't going to give you permission, so asking is kinda dumb. Actually it just might harm you because if you ask adn they deny that's one thing, but under the parody laws they can't really do shit to begin with (and I think there is already and Ivy/Cervantes story on this site)

I'd be more than willing to bounce ideas around for a SC story, you screw up Ivy and I'll stab you:mad:

The thing I'm worried about is it uses dialog and voice of the actual game, which Namco's ToS specifically says can't be taken without permission.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy
The story (concept may change) starts where the "Tale Of Souls" left off.
Only everyone killed all around the globe (with the exception of Abyss) is resurrected (by aliens) with no previous memory of the other characters.

The aliens are limited to work and logic, void of imagination, artistic abilities, and entertainment.
"Hey, lets put on a show!"

Ivy will not be the only character in this, but I think she should be a main character (succubus).

How old is Xianghua?
I'd like to know what this means:
"Open wide, 'cause here I come!"
Could this be a sexual reference?

Once again I think that the parody laws are gonna keep you pretty safe with most of the dialogue so you should probably just go forward, you'll probably be ok.

IMHO your idea is painfully stupid, we've got a magic universe that is convoluted enough without the Rhombulans making an appearance.

Of course, now that they've got Yoda and Darth Vader running around in SC IV, I think what little logic was going on in the SC universe has pretty much gone out the window.

Back around when SC II came out, X-Play had some fun with the gallery mode, where you can play back all the character's vocal samples. I don't know if those clips are kicking around YouTube or on G4's site, but they were pretty hilarious (the one I most remember involved Ivy in a farting contest with another character). This is a good example of fair use, since while I'm sure Namco had nothing to do with these bits, they still used the game's original graphics and vocals for the purposes of parody. In this regard, I really think you're free and clear to use those vocal samples anyway you wish (even more so, since there is no commercial enterprise at work).

The idea is odd, but not a great deal more so than any of the SC doujinshi kicking about. I personally found Ivy's sexuality a great deal too obvious to be genuinely intriguing -but then again, so is Morrigan's (from Darkstalkers), and I like her character a great deal. I like Sophitia a lot, but kinda despair at the Dead Or Alive style overhaul they're giving her design for SC IV.

Since I don't have a 360 or PS3, I think I'm about done with SC as a franchise anyway. Street Fighter IV is coming out soon, but based on man-hands Chun Li's new design, I don't think that's going to provide a lot of fantasy material either. At least we do have Zero Suit Samus from Brawl.

Hehe, yeah Ivy rocks. Great wardrobe, and one of the only fictional characters I've ever seen weilding an urumi (even if she isn't a kshatriyi). Though it is a little... well weird that you asked Namco that. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't laugh you off the phone. I mean... come on, theres no way they were going to take you seriously with that one. Might even think your a stalker or such.

Still... if I were doing video game erotica, I'd probably have a three way between Ivy, Cammy from Street Fighter, and Lilith from Dark Stalkers. Throw in Kitana from Mortal Kombat for good measure, if your so inclined....

On a related note, my current gf modeled her new hairstyle on Ivy (though she dyes it red). She can also kick my ass at Soul Calibur.

I think I get what you mean about fair use:
HayabusaSlice's FlashArt Gallery

The Star Wars people are special guests and have no bearing on the overall SC story arc. No more than Link or Heihachi. Heck Spawn actually made sense. I really wish I understood why people are complaining about that.

No more stupid than the cult films Mars Needs Women, Fantastic Voyage, and Plan 9 From Outer Space.
I believe the word you are looking for is "hoaky" (concept of play for an unentertained people adapted from Judy Garland/Micky Roony films).

PS: That's Romulans, not Rhombulans.

No I meant Rhombulans, the final villans from Elite Beat Agents, not Romulans from Star Trek. An acceptable mistake though since the game wasn't a huge financial sucess but still as a gamer I expected better of you.

And no I mean stupid. To say my idea is good cus of Plan 9 from outerspace is some outthere logic. I mean I could claim that the videos I made in 9th grade for History class are positively brilliant because hey, Uwe Boll directed Bloodrayne and House of the Dead.

I think the idea is stupid. But to be honest I thought the idea of Smash Brothers was stupid, turns out it was pretty great, sometimes you just gotta have a little faith.

Sounds like another Space Channel 5.

I want to explain the differences between a regular succubus and a Black Widow succubus.
The Black Widow spider is known to mate with another spider, and kill him afterwards, saved as a meal for later.
A Black Widow will also hide underground (usually around same or similaur living environment) and pop out at the vibrations of just about anything that isn't considered a threat (some will come out out anything that moves).

The Black Widow succubus lives underground around cemetaries and rail road crossings, and comes out somewhere between 11:30 PM and 12:00 AM when the moon is full.
She is fully clothed (but has known to be topless outdoors at times) and is a beautiful woman with a lovely singing voice which no man can resist (see siren).
The effect is multiplied by living in suclusion on an island (usually among a group of magic vampire-like women/girls) sailors are likely to go by.

At the stroke of midnight, her fangs come out (probably where we get that saying), and...
Well, you'll find out someday. ;)

I said the concept may change, and I think I'll change it.
I'll just make these characters in a play the only characters, and the story will use SC3's voice and dialog, but not use the actual characters.

I haven't heard all the SC3 characters yet, so I can't start brainstorming at the moment, but thanks for the offer.
I'll PM when I'm ready.

And I said the idea you had right then was stupid and if you mess up Ivy I'll stab you

I really think scrapping the Aliens would be a good start. What charachters do you want to use is probably a good plae to start, I mean I dont' think that all of the charachters have even met each other.

I fully realize that I probably shouldn't be turning this into some kind of Penny Arcade forum thread, but this bit of news was just too on-topic not to post here.
I recognize that outfit as the one Tira (a flat chested minor) wears.
I remember reading an interview with Namco about the concept art, and how Ivy looks that way only in the PAL/Euro versions because of ESRB recommendations about fully covering the breasts of Ivy, just because of size and fullness.

Note: The ESRB makes recommendations without enforcing them, so why is it we can see the full breast without nipple on "The Girls Next Door", but we can't see a CG character this way without the threat of making it 18+?

I don't think there should be a problem now.
The dialog is in the public domain (ie: Internet), and the voices will be matched by live actors/actresses (not from the Namco site or fan sites).
In addition, I have changed the storyline so these are Soul Calibur 3's voices, but Namco's characters are not in the story.

I was not on the phone with them.
Just after SC2's release, I E-mailed the company.

By the way, Darkstalkers (graphic novel, card games, video game series) has it's own succubus named Lilith (named after Adam's first wife).
