Mythology with Sex In

I think a really good idea would be to modify myths (Greek would probably be the easiest) and add sex. There are a lot of Greek myths involving gods and mortals screwing (ie. Zeus and Io).

Since many myths are vague on details, it would be pretty easy to create a story like that.

One in particular I would like to see is Cupid and Psyche. Their story here.

For more god-mortal stories to influence you, try one of these: Elizabetht's Earth Day with the Gods, or my Making of a Goddess Ch. 1 , Ch. 2 , and Ch. 3

I wrote one about Aphrodite and Adonis. It doesn't compare to the Shakespeare version. (can be found at gutenberg.com)

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=147674

Been considering a prequel based on Myrrha and her father, Adonis' parents but reluctant about another sad ending. That's the problem with Greek mythology. Be careful, some of the Zeus stories break the rules of Literotica and good taste.

I'll read the ones you listed. Always liked the classics. It's funny when you think about it, but erotic stories were around before written language.

I've read all the stories suggested, and I found them delectable.

:D:D:D

All the gods (and the White Bull of "Pasiphae") are so aloof and sexy and powerful and intense. Bacchus is more than three-dimensional, Aphrodite is like a fairy tale heroine, the White Bull is knowing and intelligent (more than I can say for most bovine).

Of all four stories, I liked "Ariadne" the best; the Minotaur is a monster, but he is more human than first glance, and SableDrake has created deep characters and has used irony well as a device in his modified myth.

These are exactly the kind of things I was looking for: good writing, a myth, sex (of course :) ). It's always hard to find the story I'm searching for, because there are so many (and with no help from the search page [see my post on sub-categories]).

I'd love to hear what people think of these stories, and if anyone has written any Modified Mythology.

Thank you, Kathryn! I'm very glad you liked them. I've been fascinated by Greek myth since I was just a kid. Hope to get around to a third in the series, "Theseus," one of these days.

Oh, btw ... I'm a "her" ;)

LOL

Aw, what's in gender? ;)

Maybe I can start plugging my latest project. I have the outline ready for a novella, based on a collection of Egyptian gods. Would that qualify as interesting as well?

:D

Thanks for the link to Cupid and Psyche. Been looking around the parent site for a while now.

Black Tulip > oh, believe me, there's benefits to being mistaken for male. The amount of crude feedbacks and penis pics are much less ;)

I, for one, would be very keen on seeing something about the Egyptian gods. There's certainly material to draw from. I don't know a fraction so much about them as I do Greek myth, but that story of Isis and Osiris and the wooden phallus might make an interesting Lit tale!

Yes, I have to agree with you there. LOL

As for the Egyptian gods, my outline works in 22 of them as they are part of the pack of Tarot cards I've got. No classical stories, purely my filthy imagination.

And that piece wood was a bit sad really because Isis couldn't find the original part after their brother Seth had hacked Osiris to pieces.

:(

Didn't it get thrown into the Nile and eaten by a croc or a giant crab or something? Yet, somehow, she still managed to conceive Horus. I think. Like I said, I don't know the mythos all that well.

SPR

I've started an SPR thread that will be going into this area. not there yet but will be. Actually there are several openings for people to participate.

Those About to Die Salute You!

The Focus will be Rome, Orgies, Gladiators Etc.. The Gods will be involved as well.

There are several versions. One is like you say. I think it was a crocodile. And yes, she managed to get pregnant from what must have been the archetype of the dildo.
:D

Another one says Horus was already born and they hid together in the reeds of the Nile delta till Horus was old enough to beat Seth, who had killed his father.

Aaron,

I sounds fun, but I'm always afraid that jumping in will consume me beyond the time I can actually spare. LOL

Eygptian mythology has lots of fun stuff.

One of their creation myths is that the world came from a god(I think Min or Ptah) masturbating.

There is a story about a Pharaoh amusing himself by having a a group of beautiful women dressed only in golden nets row him up & down the Nile.

One of the gods (I think Min) was always shown w/ an erection.

I've always loved mythology, Greek mythology especially. The Greek gods are very sexual beings in all the stories, and so very open to this kind of rewriting.

May I suggest my own story, Medusa, which may be found in the Interracial section:

It respects the myth, rewrites it, and has (I hope) some fun with it.

All those stories are so good! (And I'm not just saying that. :D )

It's amazing how one (meaning me) can never find the sort of stories one is looking for... until now. Thanks for posting all this stuff.

But... (you knew there was one coming, didn't you?) I wonder how many Norse mythology stories there are out there. The Greco-Roman pantheon is the obvious choice- those gods could barely keep their clothes on- but there's hardly any Egyptian, Norse, or Asian Modified Myths.

Morgan Hawke used to have a story along those lines, but I'm pretty sure the Temple of Lillith has been removed (she's published, so it might be in book form).

A new quest!

The problem with erotic Norse mythology is that you could get a cold Thor.

There is also a lot of good Irish and Scottish legends from the origional Gaelic and Druid. Oggbashan has the Brigit (or is it Bridget) story and I would love to see one about the "good people".

An erotic take on the germanic and central european fables such as Hans Christian Anderson and Grimm would be difficult because they are so moralistic and I try to stay away from morals. Too much good and evil but not enough naughty.

Hm, Hansl and Gretel could be incest.
Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarfs has been done to death.
Little Red Ridinghood is a classic as well, at least in Japanese anime.
Cinderella could be non-consent or BDSM or lesbian.

It's true they are heavy on the morals, but there's a lot of sexual content that has been hidden by the brother's Grimm in view of the time the stories were finally written down. They used to be part of the oral tradition for ages. Most of them have something to say about growing up too.

Damn, now you got me going and I don't have the time!!!
If you need an idea, let me know. Just don't expect me to write any right now.
After NaNo I have my Egyptian gods to finish first.

:D

Yeah, BT ... I'm waiting to see how the Egyptian myth story turns out!

Well, I have two chapters more or less ready.
But I am otherwise occupied right now, like you.

what about hindu gods? theres about 1 trillion of them but i suppose some people might get offended because people still believe in them

that sucks

How come no one has written a story about the Norse Goddess Freyja? Four nights, Four Dwarves, at the disapproval of Odin- all for a gold necklace that MIGHT have belong to the Mother Goddess at one point....and of course many people also think that Odin might have been Freyja's husband too (they aren't sure because he was refered to as Od in most stories but they can find no referances of "Od" any where else).
As punishment Odin made Freyja start a war among men and when all was done Freyja and Odin spilt the souls of the warriors between them.

Freyja is...I guess if you had to compare her to another Goddess in another more well know pantheon, Aphrodite.
In a time when women were told to be meek and unequal to men, Freyja was strong and the best known/celebrated female aspect in Norse belief.

I think her nights with the 4 dwarves holds some promise. She would have done anything for that necklace.

LOL Not writing about Freya, but my heroine in the NaNo story is praying to her. Exactly because of her strong character I chose Freya from the Nordic pantheon.

:D
