Arcadia, a mystical and mysterious world which once proudly boasted seven guilds of magic. The guilds ruled and kept peace, striving to keep the violent dark times securely in the past. That is until off-worlders arrived and brought the small, peaceful world into turmoil. The federation's oppression subjugated the world for their own greedy purposes. The people were long trapped under harsh laws, keeping their society from using magic and advancing technologically on their own. But something is growing heavy in the air, and many have felt it. The magical energies have gone unused for far too long. They are growing restless and aching to be free once more.

History of the guilds:
Sorcery was an apprenticed profession organized by the guilds. Other than governing their lands, they controlled and kept track of powerful magic users, making sure no one abused their power.

People of Arcadia:
At least 50% of the people on Arcadia have magical abilities in varying degrees. Most had limited powers such as levitating objects or scrying. The more powerful were known as Mystics, who were usually the individuals accepted in apprenticeship, and could control natural elements, conjure items, and many types of other mystical powers.

Technology:
Think of the technology as being on par with that within the Myst games produced by Ubisoft. Myst, Riven, etc

She is a woman of few words, for she enjoys peace and silence in which to study and continue her work into chronicling the long lost past of the Guilds. She is a secret member of a secret society whose goal is to one day free their world of outside ruling and bring magic back into the lives of Arcadia's inhabitants.

By Shizzz:
He had entered the building as a last ditch effort. He had not expected its holdings to be so vast. Looking around the tall dark marble pillars stretched high into vaulted ceiling, the guilt on th molding an spires was beyond gaudy. His tall dark frame was silhouetted by the light flooding in from the door, as it closed the resounding boom echoed through the mausoleum of knowledge. This world had once been a proud nation, but after its submission into the federation adn subsequent persecution its people were nothing like their ancestors. Ancestors that had delved dark and deep into the mystical and mythical.

Pulling his hood back he revealed the sharp angled lines of his face and the glinting silver eyes that had always gotten him noticed. Looking around he saw no one and began to trudge into the depths in search of someone, someone who knew this place.

Emma Lightbourne

With a deep sigh, Emma glanced out of the window at the dark swirling sky, angry with pelting rain. A clash of lightening lit up her face and the whole of the dim room, lit only by flickering candles, in which she stood. She returned her azure gaze to the aged parchment before her. The ink upon the page was faded, for it had been written by a hand that had died long ago, perhaps even centuries.

Her task was to hunt out any discernible dates, but her mind was far away from any scholarly pursuits. Today was meant to be her free day but the storm had ruined all of her plans. No, there would be no frolicking in the garden for her today. Instead, Eve had decided to make use of the fact her apprentice was trapped indoors by the foul weather.

Though she loved her mentor like a mother, Emma found herself mumbling unhappily under her breath. Her teacher was much too enthusiastic sometimes. Instead of allowing Emma the chance to quietly occupy herself in her room, or the library, she had assigned her tasks. "The more you do today, the less there will be tomorrow!" That statement had been far too cheerful the deary day.

With another grumble, Emma rose from the beaten, wooden table and bench. She was too antsy to remain sitting. She knew there were always books to be returned to their rightful place. The library would be mostly deserted on day such as this. It would allow her time to catch up on the piles of books awaiting her.

Her shoes echoed on the unfinished stone floor. Her eyes widened as she saw the books that were stacked and in need of being put away. Then she groaned. Most of them were over-sized volumes that, experience had taught her, were very heavy and difficult to handle. She looked around quickly, making sure she was alone and then reached out a hand. Some of the books rose soundlessly off of the desk.

Normally, she wouldn't have dared used her power in the public area of the library. Eve forbade her to take the chance, and it was too risky when other scholars were searching for the information they needed. But today, it was eerily quiet except for the distant sound of thunder and pounding rain. Eve was also away, out for an official matter she hadn't divulged.

Emma made her way through the tall shelves, the small pile of books floating behind her. She stopped mid-step as the sound of the front doors closing heavily. She gasped with fright as a figure walked into her line of vision. Her concentration broken, the books plummeted to the floor with an echoing thunk.

Another burst of light from outside was thrown into the library through tall, pained glass windows. The menacing shadows that were cast by shelves oder than she was did little calm her anxiety. He saw! her mind screamed. He had to have...! Her heart thudded heavily with fear and tears quickly sprang to her big, blue eyes. She dared not move, too afraid to run or approach the stranger. Her voice died in her throat and left her silent, waiting for the stranger to make his first action. Then she would know if she was in any danger.

As Thrull looked about a tumultuous cacophaony of books slamming to the ground caught his attention. A girl stood motionless staring at him unable to move. Thrull strode towards her completely unshocked by the fact this girl had been using magic, it was a good sign, the magic is what he was here for. THe federation had blasters adn starships, weapons of unimagineable power adn unsurpassed technology, but the science had come at a price.

"Miss" he addressed her with a low rumbling voice that matched his tall 6'6 frame. He was broad shouldered, thick, and heavy set. "I assume you work here, and I need help" he told her as he closed the distance, once he was before her he pulled his cloak open, revealing his dark slacks and brown leather mail wrapped chest. he had a belt with equipment hanging from it, grabbing a hand sized device he pointed it at the pile of books, adn they began to hover into the air

"Personally I like your way better, but using this wont get you killed" he told her with a smile.

"Can you help me find a book" he asked with a smile that never touuched his silver eyes

She watched in amazement as the books floated upwards off the floor. Her eyes were soon locked on the strange device held within his hand. Her eyes flicked to his face. She was stunned. She had heard of such objects, but never seen one, let alone one being used.

The books lifted higher and settled themselves onto an empty area of shelves. She made a mental note of the section so she could come back later and fetch them.

"Can you help me find a book?" He asked her.

"Yes," she said slowly as her mind drifted from shock back into reality. He towered over her short, 5 and a half foot frame. She felt suddenly shy, even though she dealt with patrons in the library all the time. Normally they were older men, not so fit or imposing. She had a feeling this stranger was not a scholar.

She felt so small next to him. His forearm appeared to be thicker than her own neck, which she absently touched for a moment. She had a thin figure and she wasn't very muscular... something she thought would be a good idea to remedy. It would certainly help her lug the books around when she had to do it by hand.

"What are you looking for?"

"A very old reference text" he said as he looked her over, unable to decide how old she was since her cloak hid her figure.

"It will be in the section that houses your old single copies, I do not believe this text to have ever been copied. It shoud be bound in a thck hide of quills from some creature from this world that I have never seen or heard of" he told her stoicly as his gleaming eyes scanned the room.

"If you help me find it, I will let you have the levitron device that I used on your books, it will help you greatly without the risk of a federation officer catching you practicing magics." he said as he getured to let her lead the way. This library was old and musty from the smell on the ground floor, he could only imagine what the catacombs adn deep cellars would be like.

This world was very different from his, where technology ruled, adn he had time adjusting but he had tracked this tome through three planet systems now and believed it to be here. He could not tell her exactly what it was since that might prevent her form actually helping him. hte bribe should suit, given how she oggled it when he used it.

"Let me...have?" Her eyes widened in surprise, as well as delight at the thought of owning such a device. Her teacher would have been very upset with her if she took something in return for helping a patron. Her own world didn't lack horribly in technology convenience, but some of the off world items were inventions her kind were forbidden to create. "I shouldn't."

She contemplated the description of the book he gave. The volume he wanted didn't spring to mind, but it sounded like the ones that Eve kept safe below the main level. Those volumes were only allowed to be looked at in the study rooms, and only when she was there to give permission.

"I can take you downstairs to see if it is there, but you'll have to wait for the Master Librarian to return. She went to town this morning, but should be back soon." Her voice was hopeful in an attempt to keep him from being agitated that he couldn't look at the volume right away when they found it.

"I will take what I can get" he siad gruffly as he eyed the little girl up and down.

"Go ahead and take me there, I would hate to waste time here, shoulod you not actually have what it is that I seek." he said with as much restraint as he could. The people of this world ad no idea what there powers truly where or the consequences of ssimply turning their backs on such an amazing force of nature.

Thrull pulled his cloak off and tossed it over the back of a chair near the front hall as he was lead on. Without his cloak he was much less mysterious. However it revealed the series of scars along his arms. Gashes and burns that had left the marks of war upon his flesh. At 25 he had seen more then his share of pain and anguish, but that was the way of a dreadnaut. Yet he was no longer among their numbers. His last platoon had been dstroyed by magic adn it was htere that he had come to understand the weakness adn limitation of technology and then that he had begun his persuit of the dark arts as he fled the nauts adn let them presume he was dead.

His tall muscular figure followed the little girl, adn he could not help but watch the small rump in the cloak that hinted at a cute little ass as he was lead.

"So what is your master librarian like" he asked in an attempt to make small talk as tey began to proceed into the dimly lit depths, but his silver eyes had no problems in the darkest of dark

The mysterious man's silver eyes almost seemed to glow in the near darkness of the stone stairwell as she led him to the lower levels. The only light was cast by flickering torches on the walls. Even their bright flames seemed to have trouble penetrating the damp darkness. When they passed into an orange circle of light, Emma caught glimpses of the scars on his arms. They startled her at first and she found it difficult not to stare at the lines crossing his muscular arms. Before long she was wondering how he had obtained them and what kind of pain he must have suffered. The thought made her shudder visibly.

Her small feet sounded lightly on the stone as they walked and her dark cloak swayed about her petite form. Normally the fabric did it's job well by keeping out the chill emanating from the stones, but cold she felt came from imagining how the stranger had become marked. She tried to empty her mind of the torture he must have endured.

She was glad for his question. It meant her mind would be occupied with happier images. "She works really hard. I don't know if she ever has fun. But," she continued thoughtfully, "she'd probably just say her work is fun."

Emma had a sweet and friendly voice. It was hard to imagine her ever raising it in anger.

"Her name is - OH! How rude of me..." She glanced aside at him, flustered. Her cheeks reddened even more as she noticed his gaze had been watching the sway of her hips. The idea of him admiring her body caused her to stutter a little. "I-I'm Emma Lightbourne... Who, uhm. What is your name?"

She sounded more shy now with the knowledge he had been watching her. It made her afraid to look back, but she found herself thinking about his physical form. His body was sculpted and his muscles obvious through his clothes. She wondered what his skin would feel like beneath her fingertips. She couldn't believe she was imagining touching him. She tried to shake the arousing ideas from her mind.

Emma had only one relationship to her name, and one that had not gone very far. She'd given it up in order to be more serious about her studies, but she'd regretted it, especially since the boy she loved had grown offended by being broken up with. Rin no longer spoke to her and she sometimes became teary over his absence. But this man following her... he made her breath catch simply by looking at him.

A smile crossed his lips as he she stammered, she must be slightly initimidated. He had to admit that his body did always raise a lot of questions, which was exactly why he kept it covered as much as possible. However here o this world people would not recognize the tell tale signs of a dreadnaut.

"My name is Thrull, adn it is nice to meet you Emma" he said gruffly. Wondering what kind of librarian would consider the task of following adn tracking books to be fun. This could be a good thing for him, if she enjoyed her work that much she would be much mare capable in helping him track down the tome.

"What about you Emma, what do you do for fun?" he asked politely as he followed her down another series of halls adn stairs. His eyes drifting from the path to her ass. As a dreadnaut he had been forced to deny his appetites but now being free he enjoyed letting them run, not quite rampant, but he did embrace them.

Onward adn down ward they trudged, with flickering light glining off the silver desks on his black vest and the sounds of his boots ringing on the stone drowned that of hers.

"Are you the only one here. If you are this far from the desk who will help the next inquisitive patron" he asked as they made yet another turn.

OOC: A visual! Great :) Phew, he could snap emma in half with his fingers, lol

IC: His questions helped her shyness to fade away in order for her to speak once more. She wasn't a very selfish girl, but she did enjoy to talk about herself. It was easier for her to answer questions than to ask them. Her shy personality left her somewhat anti-social.

"My Master chides me, but I like to climb trees and go swimming... She's a little old fashioned sometimes. She thinks girls shouldn't be running around outside getting dirty. But I love nature." Emma smiled brightly. "I hope I don't become as serious as she is. I do like books but I don't lock myself away like she does." Emma shook her head critically.

"I am the only one here at the moment, aye. We don't have many visitors anymore. Many are afraid that we're breaking Magic laws. And they don't want to associate with trouble." She didn't mention that Eve truly was breaking the laws. He was still a stranger after all. "Most days we have more students to look after things, but there are no lectures today."

They finally came upon the room they needed to search. She showed him inside. The room was much brighter and warmer than the stone corridors. A fire roared in a hearth, built by one of the many servants that tended the grounds of the institution. The Library was but one building on a University campus.

The heat made her grow uncomfortable in her cloak so she took it off and rested it across the back of a chair. She revealed herself to be wearing simple, but closely fitting garments. Her tunic was a deep rose color and cinched at the waist by a thin piece of leather. Her pants were dark brown and tucked into her soft leather boots. Her wavy blond hair fell freely down her back. She wondered silently if he'd be watching her even more, now that her figure wasn't hidden under yards of fabric. Her young curves and high round breast were free to be ogled. She wondered if she should stop him but bringing it up in conversation felt much too forward.

She motioned towards the table and the 3 rows of tall book shelves. "You can use this as a work space and the books are there, as you can see." She muttered at herself for sounding so stupid.

Her voice was soft and innocent as they traversed the halls, he found it rather disarming actually.

"Well I would say the runnin and swimming sound quite fun actually, so i would not give that up no matter what your master thought. There is a great admiration for the passion that can be had by those who lose themselves in books, bt never lose yourself in any one thing. The world is far to great and amazing to vest yourself i just one thing." He told her as she finally lead him onto a rooom.

the room was light by several lamps adn a large fire roared in large hearth to the side. THe light danced over three walls each about 20 feet wide adn 15 feet high, packed with tomes. THere were three seperate racks off to the side of the great tables that had rolls of scrolls stacked under neath of it. HTe dark stones that made the walls had been dark and covered with dank lichen, but in this room the stones were clean and dry.

"Is this room tended daily, or is there some other way that it is kept so dry and clean?" he asked her, as his eyes turned back to her, not that she could tell since his silver eyes showed no pipil adn made it impossible ofr anyone to tell where he looked.

She had apprently become hot, as she shed her cloak, he saw the lines of her form, and felt her femininity strike him. THe tight britches hugged the curves of her slende thighs, adn hinted at a quaint round ass. Her tonic was split over her round young breasts, and he felt himself responding. He could not be distracted though, he had to see if it was here.

"I am looking for a book eith not title, the cover should be that of a rusty or crimson red leather and the pages within should appear as gibberish or completely blank. I have found toowo different accounts of this book and cannot be sure which is true, we may find both, but the account agreed that it was here."

AS he told here he peeled of the vest of metallic discs adn was ow simply in a tight dark shirt and dark pants. The shirt hugged his from shoeing the large hard lines of his physically exquisite body. Placing his vest on the table he turned to the first wall.

"So what is your favorite book then Emma?"

The young woman smiled at his response to her nature loving ways. She wished Eve shared his attitude about enjoying mixed activities equally. He looked so imposing, and possibly even brutal, but he was quickly winning her trust. His pupil-less eys were slightly unnerving, but she knew there were many stranger things beyond the stars of her planet.

"The university houses servant quarters. A few tend the lights and fires. There aren't very many hearths, unfortunately. So you can imagine most of the rooms on these lower levels are cold. My Master insists this room is well lit because she spends much of her time in here."

He shucked off his own vest which allowed her to see the very apparent ridges of muscles beneath his clinging dark clothes. She could not remember seeing a man so built up with muscle before. She didn't realize she was staring, something that was probably rude no matter where you went. Her amazement was so complete that she almost didn't hear his question. She blinked her eyes so she could tear her gaze away from him. She gave him another warm smile as she began to tell him about her favorite book.

"My favorite book is one about the tales and legends of ancient magic users. Some tragic or cautionary, a few romances, but most of adventure! They are probably tall tales for the most part, but they had to base them on something. There is always a battle of good versus evil in need of fighting..." Her thoughts pondered the Federation that oppressed her culture and the brave souls wanting to rise up and take their home back. Was she that brave, she wondered?

While she'd spoken nostalgically of her loved stories, her blue eyes were hunting through scrolls, dusty parchment and bound volumes. "Do you have a favorite?" she asked curiously while she rose onto her toes to better look at a high shelf. She frowned slightly at not seeing a book that fit the description he'd given. But there were plenty more shelves to look through.

He noticed her looking at his body, unsure if it was the presence of his scars or simply his physical form that caught her eye. He truned adn walked ot a shelf of books.

"I have no true favorite books. When I was younger I loved the fantastic adventures, but I have seen the reality of those brave deeds adn found that the stories were lacking in reality. I now know that were tales of battles and heroic deeds told so truly they would likely be much less enticing to their readers."

Looking over the cases adn shelves he saw nothing that appeared to be like the tome he saught. Perhaps this chamber was secluded but it also seemed likely that there could indeed be even more secretive chambers. Places where someone my hide a book of such power, but that was only if they recognized it for what it was.

As he circled the room, his eyes slid to her supple young form. SHe had lovely legs and very firm round ass, her breasts were small yet frim looking as they resisted her oppresive vest.

"WOuld your master have another place she might keep other precius documents?" he asked as he turned back from the book shelves and scanned the room openly, looking for some hidden seem in a wall. THe heat in the rooom seemed to be getting to him, as he found himself hot.

"It is quite hot in here" he told her as he shed his form fitting shirt, revealing a tight undershirt that left his arms bare above the shoulder. he tossed it over a chair. He looked at her and saw that she had begun to perspire.

Takiung his lead, she too rid herself of her heavy over-tunic. It kept her warm when traversing the chilly stairwells and corridors, but it was not needed in a tiny room with a well lit hearth. She sighed happily as she put the rough garmet aside on a chair and was left in a simple cotton shirt. Hers was no where near as tight as his shirt, which allowed her to view every ridge of muscle. However her nubile chest did stretch the fabric taught across the round curves of her breasts.

She nodded in resposes to his statement that real battles were far different from those read in fantastical stories. She smiled a little sadly. "It is fantasy that makes reality more bareable... For me at least," she quickly tagged on, as if afraid no one would ever share her opinion. She scolded herself silently. She needed to be more self assured!

"I'm sure my Master does have many more rooms on the grounds. She has so many secrets. I will only learn them once she finds me truly worthy of them." Emma was hoping that time would be soon. She was excited to move forward and to earn the trust and responsibilities beyond an apprentice.

"And what do you fantasize abot to make a world such as we find ourselves in bareable?" He asked her in a gruff voic as he scanned the ceiling and floors. Desperate to find a flaw in the seems or a line of somesort left in the dust, but there was nothing.

"I have learned that real fantasy is more like horror, save the fantasys of flesh and passion, thse are the ones in which the real is bettter then the imagined. I dare say that is the only one such case in which fantasy loses." he told her as his eyes seetled back onto her form, no left in a clinging cotton garb, that showed her perspirations translucing the fabric as well as holding closer to her form.

His silver orbs for eyes glistened in the firelight as he dug in his minds for clues, a move to make as he was forced to wait on her master.

"Well at least we dont have to worry about catching cold" he joked as he strode over to stand next to her.

"Tell me what you have been taught in the ways while we wait. I my self am no novice" he told her as he focused inward, mumbled a small incantation and stirred the air at her fee, cousing her shif to stir, revealing her smooth thighs, as ht e air gusted then fell away.
