Fred was sitting at the malt shop waiting for the rest of the group to get there. He had the Mystery Machine all tuned up and raring to go. He had few other things that might make things more interesting for them, now that they weren't teenagers anymore, set in. It was more of a mini-Winni Mystery Machine than a Van now. Still painted Psychadelic colors, but bigger.

Shaggy walked in looked around the malt shop, checking it out.

Then spotting Fred he walked over "Hey man, the mystery machine is looking mighty fine today" then he looked at the waitress

"I'll have a beef and mustard sandwich with thick brown bread..." as the waitress turned to leave Shaggy added "Oh and some lettuce , cucumber, tomatoes, pickles, ham, mushrooms,cheese, lamb, bacon, pepperoni,...and a lot of mayo" and smiled at Fred "oh a large chocolate malt with icecream whipped cream a cherry and some peanuts.....times two "

Turning back to Fred with a smile "So where are the girls"

Daphne was heading over to the others, she was walking and relaxing what was going on around her, she sighed contently, wondering what in the hell was going on, she wondered why she was called, she had a thing for Fred, he was cute and she wanted to go out with him but he never asked, and there was something about a girl asking a guy on a date just felt so damn wrong, she shrugged the feeling off and walked in and eyed the place, she smiled seeing them and walked over.

Fred shook his head, not knowing where Shaggy was able to keep it and still be the beanpoll he was. "Don't know, their not here yet. They're suposed to be meeting us here tho. So you like the new Mystery Machine then, this way we save money on hotels and stuff like that."

I check I was at the right malt shop address that Fred had told me on the phone. The gang were getting together again. Great! I can't wait to see them all. It had been about six months since I decided to take a break from Mysteries Inc. I had concentrated on my thesis on the common factors of the supernatural creatures we had encountered over the years. As well as how people pretending to be ghosts and such had fooled so many people , till we came along and solved the mysteries.

Pushing my glasses back onto the bridge of my nose , I look around and see Fred sitting there. He hadn't changed except to maybe get more handsome and muscled. Oh how he would never know just how much I loved him, since the fifth grade!

"Hi Fred! It's sure is good to see you again.Hi Daphne hi Shaggy........ where's that loveable pup Scoobydoo, I have some scoobysnacks for him"

Fred smiled at all his friends and noddded. "Welcome back guys, I'm glad that you all could make it. Velma, how did your thesis go? Daphne, you and Velma are looking good as ever." He smiled his winning smile and chuckled at that thought.

She smiled looking at him kindly "Im doing just well Fred, how is everyone?" She sat down beside Fred and looked up at him, dreamy eyed she loved all of what he was doing, a kind smile given she ran her fingers Thur her hair and ordered a root beer float.

Shaggys food arrived..."There's nothing like a beef sandwich with everything on it", he opened his mouth and the sandwich popped in "thats the first one"

The door to the malt shop opened and in walked Scoobie with a pair of sunglasses and a large baseball cap.. "Did someone say scoobie snacks"

"Hey Scoob why the sunglasses man" Shaggy said eating the second sandwich really quickly

"I'm in disguise, this way no monsters will ever find me"

Shaggy shook his eat and grapped a malt "Hey girls" he'd always like the Daphne she was hot and Velma , well he'd seen her without her glasses on and that made all the difference

"It went good Fred thanks for asking...........I may have secured a grant for studying some real ghosts if we ever find one. Shaggy what have you and Scooby been up to. Well apart from what you both do best..........EAT!

I turn and look towards the door....and there was my furry pal Scooby.

"Come here you walking dustbin and give me a big hug and kiss and I might have a few scoobysnacks hiding in my purse for you"

IC: Fred looked between his other friends, and smiled a wicked smile. "We've been asked to bring back Mystery Inc for another run at finding the Paranormal, and bringing out the fakes. Are you still all up for adventure and fun. We have all kinds of cool stuff in the Mystery Machine, can't wait to show you all."

"Scoobiesnacks" Scoob drained his malt and in a flash was by Velma his eyes lit up.

Shaggy shook his head..."Well I've been doing a lot of this and that all over the place ...and I just completely a 'World Tour of Pizza Places' and scoobies been doing some dog wrestling how'd that work for you Scoob"

The dog just looked at Shaggy "Got more action than you ever had and i got an invite to return anytime I like" looking back at Velma he smiled his teeth all on display "Scoobiesnacks"

"oh scooby you really are a naughty dog. It's not nice to make fun of Shaggy like that...........just because he doesn't live up to his name. He can't help being a bit of a goofball. There are some girls who go for a guy who can make thenm laugh rather than have hollywood style good looks.

Stop giving me those pleading eyes. I'd give you the scooby snacks anyway. Show me your moonwalk and I'll make it three.You could join in Shaggy if you fancy a snack too?"

Oooooooooooooo Jinky's I hope I didn't go on about poor Shaggy's lack of a sexlife too much. After all my own was non existent too. No one ever goes for the geeky nerdy science obsessed brainbox......they're just too scared we will blow them up or something.

She smiled looking at everyone and looked down, closing her eyes she sighed some, everything seemed so perfect, when she opened her eyes, everything seemed so perfect, looking at Shaggy she knew he liked her, she leaned in. "Who's being naughty" She grinned "If you think scooby is you've seen nothing yet"

Fred smiled and nodded. "Now this is going to be fun. So you have been getting some huh Scooby, maybe you can give some hints to us guys who are a bit shy around the women." he smiled at Daphne and Velma, for even tho he had the looks, he was quite shy around the two of them. He liked Daphne a lot, but didn't know how to approach her. How do you approach your best friend and tell her you think she's groovy.

"so go on Fred tell us what this mystery is about and then we can get some supplies in and head out to investigate. It's been so long since.... I can't wait any longer."

Did I just drop a hint about how sexually deprived I have been all my life. Jinky's I'm getting careless..........but who knows . Maybe Fred or Shaggy or even Daphne might decide to help me with my little problem. that of only ever having done some heavy petting with Chris Montgomery at science camp once.

Fred looked at them with a wry smile. "Well our first assignment is simple. We just go out to the old Haunted House on Mercer, and see whether or not it really is Haunted." He smiled at them all and chuckled.

"Jinky's Fred that sounds like fun. You mentioned the mystery machine was kitted out with some cool new equipment ....want to help me check it out. It's so good to have the gang back together again."

I turn my back to them so the can't see me wipe a tear from my eye. I have missed them all terribly.

Fred smiled and got up. "You three join us when your done eating.' he then offered his arm to Velma, and headed out to the Mystery Machine.

Fred shows me the outside of the new machine. Bigger now more of a mini bus than a va, cool paintwork. Then the piece de resistence. He opens the door to reveal state of the art computer equipment, spectrum analysers, heat sensory equipment. Jinkys this is marvellous.

Before I realise what I 'm doing I throw my arms round his neck and shower him with kisses. I always did get hot and wet when checking out new scinctific stuff. It was the geek in me I guess.

Fred was shocked when Velma kissed him, but kissed her back anyway. "Yah, we got the whole 9 yards and everything in here."

Scoobie looked as Velma left "No scoobie snacks, no problem I have to go anyway"

Shaggy looked at his friend "What Scoob don't you want to check out this house "

"NO Shaggy, I've got a hot date " Scoobie pulled out a pipe and a bathrobe from out of no where "Catch ya later you two " and with that he was off.

Shaggy stood with his hands on his hips and shugged turning to Daphne he put his hands in the air and took a step forward..."What are we going to do noooooooooow" Shaggy triped and fell forward his hands hit Daphnes body as his face landed on her seat between her legs...

"Did I break anything " enjoying the view....one day he'd show them shaggy by name shaggy by nature that would be him...one day

I was so shocked when Fred kissed me back but at the moment I was just too overwhelmed with the equipment . This stuff would help me prove one way or the other about the existence of true ghosts. My theory would be fact not fiction. I'd enter the Young Scientist Hall of Fame.

"Oh Fred , this is marvellous . Show me how it all works or at least where the manuals are."

With his hands on my ass he gives me a push inside the van.

Daphne came in watching them kiss and it broke her heart, her and fred she thought they could be together but this proved her very wrong, she wrapped her arms around herself. Tears fell down her face, she brushed right past them and headed for her car, her sadness of not being his took hold of her heart and broke it into a million pieces she couldn't be a part of this "Gang" Any more.

Fred showed Velma the manuals then heard a car taking off. He looked out the window and wondered where Daphne was going. "I wonder what's wrong with Daphne, she just took off." He turned to Velma and shrugged his shoulders.

OOC: And Fred being his normal self around the two of them, and not knowing anything about woman.

She didn't care any more she drove up into the bar something she never did, she parked her car and just sighed, ordering drink after drink, drowning her sorrows, the man she loved kissing her so called best friend, she had stopped feeling something after the 7th drink.
