Hello all-lately I have been browsing through this section of the forum as well as the new stories.
The amount of negative and downright rude comments/feedback is crazy! The trolls really seem to rule the roost in LW too. Glad I am not planning on posting there.
What is funny to me is that people are here on an erotic literature sight that clearly states at the home page among other things:
"Welcome to Literotica, your FREE source for the hottest in erotic fiction and fantasy." "We offer a huge selection of adult fantasies to choose from, and are always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas."
Definitions:
Erotic - 1)of, devoted to, or tending to arouse sexual love or desire <erotic art>
2)strongly marked or affected by sexual desire
Fiction - 1)a : something invented by the imagination or feigned; specifically : an invented story b : fictitious literature (as novels or short stories) c : a work of fiction; especially : novel
2) a : an assumption of a possibility as a fact irrespective of the question of its truth <a legal fiction> b : a useful illusion or pretense
3): the action of feigning or of creating with the imagination
Adult - 1) fully developed and mature : grown-up
2): of, relating to, intended for, or befitting adults <an adult approach to a problem>
3): dealing in or with explicitly sexual material <adult bookstores> <adult movies>
Fantasies - 1)obsolete : hallucination
2): fancy; especially : the free play of creative imagination
3): a creation of the imaginative faculty whether expressed or merely conceived: as a : a fanciful design or invention b : a chimerical or fantastic notion c : fantasia 1 d : imaginative fiction featuring especially strange settings and grotesque characters —called also fantasy fiction
4): caprice
5): the power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need <an object of fantasy>; also : a mental image or a series of mental images (as a daydream) so created <sexual fantasies>
So why is that people come on to a website where mature adults are allowed to indulge in their fantasies, whether they are vanilla or taboo, by writing a story to their liking and then bash people for doing it?
Don't get me wrong please, I appreciate feedback and constructive criticism on grammar, structure, etc.. BUT, I see no reason to write something like this "same shit every day, get a life" or "you are mentally fucked up. please get some help. we don't need any more sick bastards like you in the world."
Wow.
And the ones that get me are those (especially in LW I have noticed, but I am not pointing fingers!) who claim to know the difference between fantasy and real life (some fantasies are acted upon while others are not) yet say things like "I cannot believe you would let your wife do such a thing" or "the character obviously has no moral qualities, somebody who would succumb to such temptation does not truly love their spouse" after reading a fictional story based on a fantasy.
It is a fiction, fantasy and even if it is a true story, if it bothers you so much DON'T read it. It is not directly affecting you or life unless you let it!
Ok, ok...sorry about that! Please forgive my rant and I am bracing myself for any inflammatory comments I might receive. And yes I do have thick skin, so the negative feedback I have already received does not phase me. I am just expressing my disgust at some people's hypocrisy.
