Ok I get that sports are a big deal. I understand that. I also understand there is a nationalism associated with some sports, soccer in particular.
I live in a primarily Brazilian community. And I am guessing (forgive me my sports ignorance I dont really DO sports) Brazil won today. I live in a small city of 30,000 and I swear to you every single Brazilian in town is driving around with their flags waving and honking their horns.
At first I was annoyed, then curious, then almost envious at their sense of pride. Now I am annoyed again.
It took me 15 minutes to get home from down town (usually takes about 1-3 minutes). I understand they are proud they are happy they are whatever it is sports fans get. I just want to know is it too much to ask that they not clog every street in my town??? Couldnt they just wave their flags at the passing cars. Is my desire for them to do so impeding on their first amendmant rights?
Im such a killjoy.
