I went to the dentist today and got that problem tooth pulled (along with the one next to it)

Just thought I'd let you all know:)

Thanks to all those who've been asking, I'll be feeling much better soon.

Good to hear, Sweet. There is little in this world as miserable as a bad tooth. Glad you're feeling better.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, Sweet. I just started a new thread on pain and writing--you might be able to offer some insight into the matter.

I'm so glad to hear that!

I don't think anything aches like a bad tooth - here's hoping you'll feel 100% soon!!

Did the tooth fairy pay double???

Felt better almost immediatley- now however I currently have 2 canker sores (one on each side- ouch!)

I find that when the vikoden wears off, I get a 'hangover' type headache, rather painful. Rather than take another Vikoden however, I just take three Advils, and avoid becoming an adict.

Anyone else have this reaction with Vikoden?

Yes on the Vicodin. I severely sprained my ankle a few years back, and took the stuff for three days straight. When I quit, I felt like what a junkie coming clean must feel like. I was sick at my stomach, very shaky, terrible headache, cold sweats, the whole bit. At first I thought I was getting the flu until I put 2 and 2 together. I would stick to the Tylenol or Advil. Alleve can also work well.

Does the US have any generic drugs, or is everything branded?

More to the point, lots of symp for SnP. Hope you feel good soon.

why the heck don't the doctors tell you this anyway?

Perscription Advil is my drug of choice, but my dentist doen't perscribe it for some odd reason. I think Tylonol (makers of vikedon) subsidise his practice, but that's ok, because he takes Medicaid patience from far and wide- and it's hard as hell to find a dentist who will. It doesn't quite fill there pocketbooks as much.

We do have genaric drugs, but the brand names are best known, and we generally use them when refering even to the genaric drug. (we usually say tylonlol instead of acedaminaphen, for example and Aleve instead of neproxum soium. The most used generic terms are asprin and sometimes ibuprophen (which most people probably think *are* brand names, lol.

Interesting. Over here in the UK - or it may well just be me, so let's say "I" prefer the generic names - Ibuprophen, Paracetomol, Aspirin. Branded versions seem to me to be simply over-priced, and without the same information and control. But maybe that's just a Yorkshire (i.e. over economical - you've heard the definition of a Yorkshireman? A Scot with the generosity removed?) control freak...

I hadn't heard that one, but it's funny. Actually, I knew a Yorkshirewoman when I was living in Iran and she was funnier than hell, and helped me to stay sane while I was over there.

I'm glad you're not hurting anymore, f5.
