Ok I have sung to him ..read to him .. walked around with him.. change his diaper..feed him and he still will not sleep ..

What am I doing wrong he has been up for 4 hours now!!!!! I want some peace .... OF course it doesn't help that Ns is at work..
I'm home alone .. and no one to talk to ...

I'm loseing my mind

Is he being fussy, or just awake?

If he's just awake, I would say just let him stay that way a bit longer.

If he's fussy, try going into a darkened room, lay him skin to skin (with a diaper, of course) on your chest, and rub his back. If the room is a bit chilly, lay a blanket over you both so he is still skin to skin. Talk to him quietly, and he will likely mellow out a bit. And give you some quiet time at the same time. ;)

It's good that he's up more during the day. The more he stays awake during the day, the more he'll sleep at night. :)

the lil shit just fell asleep finally he was crying and fussy

I have him all bundle up so he won't get cold but he still didn't want to go to sleep I even talk to him whispering ... then I put him under his play gym that has a musical moble and he fell asleep

sigh its calmness now

He's still very young

Are you sleeping when he is? Don't use his sleep time as busy time for you especially if you're not getting enough rest. Lack of rest and energy will deplete your patience.

Until you're both a better schedule, try not to do more than you have to. Habits and priorities change with babies.

Get a cup of tea, whatever you prefer and relax.

It gets better.

Peace,

daughter

Yes, daughter,

That is the best new parent advice I never took!

Egads! The exhaustion seemed endless :)

I have to be thankful for my hubby he has helped me out greatly he is the greatest father to our son...

when he isn't working or if he only has to work at night he takes care of jacob for me so I can sleep in during the day.. plus this gives him quality time with our son:)

Thank you all for your advice if you have any other tips please let me know I can use all the help Ican get

i used to sing (hum actually) to them when they were lying on my chest. i didnt have to be loud, in fact it was usually just above a whisper. they used to quiet right down and fall asleep.

i also have to agree with daughter. you need your rest as well.
sleep when the baby sleeps until such times as a better schedule for the both of you happens.
my daughter used to have her days and nights mixed up for sleeping. nothing worked until one day i heard of an old home remedy and tried it. i changed her sleeping position by laying her down in the opposite of where her head and feet were. i worked.

good luck and get some sleep!:D

He is getting a car ride tonight that is when ns is getting home and we do our grocery shopping at night less people to run us over;)

that trick always worked for me when i use to baby sit my freinds kids.Let me know if it works or give him a teaspoon of booze if he's over two. good luck. sandman
