I thought I read some where that grapefruit can interact with some Rx meds.

You forgot eggs, I thought you were keeping the eggs in your diet?

LOL, yes.
I just went and looked at my egg carton, I get the Egg Land's Best because it was recommended for my husband's diabetic diet for the 100mg of Omega 3, but it also says they are 25% less saturated fat and high in Vitamin E. Plus, vegetarian fed hens.

I would, until you research it. I know there is something about the mix that can make things off, I just can't remember the exact info I heard.

Hmmm, I don't know much about that. But, maybe there are other brands that have the same good qualities that are more hen friendly.

98% of the eggs in the US are from battery cage hens...all the ones in the normal store egg aisle are from battery cages...only free range isn't...and they're expensive and not really that much more animal friendly...I wish I didn't have to eat eggs :(

DP you're crazy.. When soup is concerned there is no substitute for chicken stock..

Vegetable stock is vegetable stock, but chicken stock is irreplacible.

Perhaps I watch too much food network..

I just found this at their website. Apparently not all their eggs are produced this way, but they do offer an alternative that is.

I'll see if my store sells them...and check the prices...I'll get whatever free range eggs are cheapest. :)
It's so hard to shop for healthy on a budget, isn't it?

yes...very hard...I'm thinking this shopping list is gonna run around $175-200 >.< it should feed me for a while though...probably 2-3 weeks...

May I suggest orange juice, enhanced with vitamin D and calcium?

Especially cutting dairy out of your diet, you should be protecting your bones. And the vitamin C, especially if you aren't thrilled with grapefruit. Also, look for red grapefruit - they tend to be sweeter than white.

Otherwise, excellent job!

You are right, but 4 oz a day is all you need... and if you get the kind with pulp, you are adding fiber. I personally like to mix mine with flavored seltzer as a mixer. It does not have that heavy drag as you drink it, and is more pleasant. I can't find the words to explain what I mean, but I won't drink artificial sweeteners like in crystal light. This gives me the texture and better flavor without the artificial stuff.

Also, try to buy organic peanut butter if possible, again because of unhealthy fat and additives.

Poor Doll, we always overwhelm you, don't we? But you know it is because we are pulling for you!

It tastes fresh. The bubbles kind of add a pizazz to it.
