My cat, I mean. Surely you didn't think . . .?
Anyway all you cat lovers, hubby spent a couple of hours today at the pet emergency room with our gorgeous calico tabby. (Yes, he is quite the guy, isn't he?)
Problem is, we don't know exactly what's wrong with her, but at least several things have been ruled out. Like a bad tooth, diabetes, bladder or urinary tract infection, anything viral or bacterial, etc.
We're taking her back tomorrow morning for more tests (and because they want to flush her system with I.V. fluids). Her symptoms include weight loss despite a ravenous appetite and extremely active behavior (lately she's been attempting to fly by jumping halfway up the door jams).
We're thinking hyperthyroidism; if so we can give her meds every day and monitor. There is surgical treatment and even radiation like they use for humans but she doesn't need to be put through that.
Yes, we're broke. *sigh*
She's worth it - she's snuggly and loving and gorgeous. If I can find a pic I'll post it.
So how's your pussy today?
