I was bored one day and decided to draw, so I paused a movie. I never expected to share it, so maybe that is what helped it to look better, but I have never really have drawn people, but I ended up being really impressed with what showed up on paper.

But it needed color, so I went out and bought colored pencils, the problem is I got the wrong type. But in every mistake there is a lesson.

Getting frustrated again, I am trying to keep my "other" art style in the eyes, but I don't think it will work, I ended up photoshopping it to clean it up. I debated if I should just follow "everyone else" and just do everything digitally... But I think I will keep working with the traditional methods.

Believe me I can see the flaws in the pictures, and I get they aren't perfect, some are almost embarrassing, but the bad ones show how far I have come, I love seeing the progress I am making!

Hi Francine I am self taught and the best thing I did was buy a few books at AC Moore or Micheal's Craft shot on how to draw. They are very helpful. There are few online communities as well that I have gotten helpful direction from Wet Canvass is one

For colored pencil I use prisma and art stick they are oil or wax based you can mix them with a blender pencil and a burnisher

I think I should take some self taught drawing. I'm in the process of teaching myself to airbrush but my drawing skills are rather lacking. You've done some nice work and it's encouraging to see others work. Thanks for posting

I have been off for the summer, (kids and such) but otherwise I try to do 2 drawings a month. It seems to be all I can escape to do.

I use a mix of prisma colored pencils and art markers. I am trying to maintain a good balance between cartoon and realistic. I have drawn all my life, but color has always been intimidating, the fear of "ruining" my work basically. I started an account with virtual art tutor to improve some of my art skills, before I just searched you tube.

Thank you, I was afraid I wasn't putting enough expression in them, It is awesome someone else can see it. I seem to get better, and than get worse a bit before I get better again. I figure keep at it, don't give up, and don't be ashamed if it isn't perfect.

Thank you. Wow, airbrushing, now that's intimidating! I bought an airbrush 10 years ago, I used it once and never again had the courage to use it.

First drawing of "fall" Mostly just a sketch, I really want to put a bit of story into my drawings. I might come back to this idea as I improve and redo it, but it is what it is for now. I didn't like it enough to color it.

My last drawing. I tried to imagine what I look like when I do that, lol, she is just finishing up and about to climb forward, so I was going with a pleading/wanting/I can't wait any longer look. Also I was told I don't put enough detail in the guy, so I tried, but I probably should have outlines the veins with ink. I wish I would have had not so much white show in her eyes, and her hand placement was a little weird.
