My prediction

Phant. Menace sucked, expect for the Podrace sequence.... I think the Clones will be better, as the trailers look better and the scriptment i've read seems better.... just too much lovey dovey crap

But we do get to see Jango Fett.... and Slave 1.... niiiiice

Mythos. It's all about the mythos. The original trilogy had it (mostly) and the stories worked on our collective archetypes of father, god and child. It wasn't the special effects or the cool monsters or the fact that in the background you can see Bobba-Fett ("Cool!") -- all that crap makes it a comic book. "I am your father, Luke" made it opera.

The new trology has a great premise, the swwet little boy's fall into the dark side, but without a hint or a foreshadowing of the redemption to come we have nothing to latch onto. So all we're left with are pod racing sequences and "all digital" this and that, and Yoda fighting ("Cool!")

All space movies are "Cool!". Star Wars 4 and 5 (and parts of 6) delivered more. They had pathos and tugged at something primal and fearful deep inside of us.

I just have this feeling "Attack of the Clones" will be all about the "Cool!" with none of the tugging.

ITs still going to be more like a series of 'cool' highlights that won't make up a movie. IV V and VI be grandeouse sweeping movies... much like myths.... bad guys wear black, white and live surrounded by steel.... good guys wear earthy colours and live near trees or deserts...

i'm still gonna see it... but i'm not expecting very much

I would be sooo much better as anakin.....

I don't even consider "The Phantom menace" a Star Wars movie.

its more like: 'based on the trilogy by George Lucas'... making prequels 25 years later is not a good idea

"Attack of the Clones" will suck. I have this queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Fuck.

Come with me to see the film, D.

I'll take care of the queasiness...and even the fuck part.

Dixie, I'll still pay my money to see it. It's more than just a movie.

The Star Wars movies are more than cinema. They're a timeless experience, a moment when strangers come together and cheer when Yoda makes his first appearance.

Fuck, that the movies aren't good. The dialogue has never bn wickedly intelligent. It's a cult, an enthralling part of our culture.

I'm looking forward to it.

Hey Dixon, this new trilogy is the equivalent of GODFATHER 3: Too late and un-needed in light of the beauty of the originals.

I've decided to be an obsessed Dixon Carter Lee Fan for the next two hours.
