After browsing through the forum I decided to share one of my Pen and Ink drawings with you all. I have experimented with just about every medium out there but I love bold black lines on crisp white paper which is why I come back to this style of art, I guess.

nice work, almost a b&w version of Roy Lichtenstein. The position under the cock reaching up makes for a really interesting perspective.

Thank you very much. An almost of Roy Lichtenstein is a first for me, I'm flattered. Thank you again.

I like the weights, you managed to create the illusion of depth which is what inking is all about - you might consider leaving out more detail, the little lines on the underside of her chin indicating the tracheal musculature - those subtler anatomical details don't always translate well into B&W line drawing - particularly as you haven't detailed the hair, but left it as a mass.

Generally speaking, one should try to maintain consistency in the level of detail IMO, and the convention is to always simplify, particularly on faces - yo have to have a very sure touch to put any lines on a face without making it look aged, most artists these days don't even put in nasolabial folds, lower eylids, etc.

Although this can backfire, IMO, and rob faces of character, making them mannekin like, I believe it's mainly a recognition of the younger male demographic who tend to be attracted to younger looking more idealized females - in this case, the overall design is biased towards the graphical, so leaving out the finer details would be more consistent with the style.

Lotta critique for two little lines huh?

Xssve,

The hardest part of doing a minimalistic drawing is keeping it minimal. What has to be there in order for the viewer to understand what they are viewing. It is a problem on every new drawing for me.

I would like to thank you, this is the kind of review and feedback that every artist needs.
