my new tattoo (updated)

This is one of those selfish, nothing to do with anyone but me and my need to show off my new tattoo posts. Although if anyone else wants to show off theirs in this post as well, please do, I really do love looking at tattoos.

This is only the line work, the rest comes in a few weeks or a month, depending on how I heal. It was a glorious 3 hours of pain, I was loving it. Except the part where I fell asleep...

The finished piece will have a full moon orb in the spot where the tail curls up, with a half-moon(man on the moon) inside the full moon orb, all done in greys and blues, with a north star right above the moon, and a scattering of twinkly yellow starshines and blue/grey mist to complete the background. The phoenix itself is mostly purples and aquas and blues, with a bit of yellow and crimson in the head and endtails.

I'm very much in love with this piece and its significant meaning to me, so just had to share, thank you for indulging me <G>

You actually fell asleep?

LOL Good going! Now that is what I call relaxed.

Very nice.

yeah, sigh, takes the fun out of enjoying a little pain when you fall asleep!

This is a habit with me though, I once fell asleep during a short break in the middle of an intense punishment roleplay.

very very pretty! i like it!

i guess i'll attach a pic of mine, though it's not nearly as extravagent as yours!

What an absolutely gorgeous tattoo serijules, congrats! The colors and detail you describe sound perfect too. Please post another pic when it is finished, I'd love to see it. Thanks for sharing, I love looking at tattoos too.

I know everyone has already seen mine, but here it is again. It is on the small on my back, right in the center.

That's a beautiful tat serijules!

I'm with some of the others in wanting to see it when it's finished if you don't mind. :)

Wow, seri, that's gorgeous! I can't believe you fell asleep - I was crying for four hours with mine! (In the fifth and final hour, we finally figured out that a change in position would be helpful, and it didn't hurt nearly as much.)

bunny bondage, I didn't realize you had such a cute penguin! Where is it on you?

And il mio angelo, I am still awed by the colors in yours. Really beautiful!

I might as well join the crowd and post mine. The rest of the pictures (including the process of getting it) are here.

I love that penguin too, its just too cute for words.

I might as well post my other tat here too, also too cute for words <g> This one is on my inner right ankle.

Does anyone have any future plans for tattoos? I plan to get a small bunch of snowflakes on my front shoulder, and a betta fish on my lower back...but the betta won't be for a few years, it is pretty complex and I want these artists in Chicago or Ohio to do it, but won't have the money to spend on that for awhile. But I do know someday I plan to get it.

Hopefully I'll be able to stop there, I love tattoo's, but there is a limit before I feel it stops looking beautiful and starts looking cluttered and overdone.

Serijules, your new tattoo is absolutely stunning. The duck is adorable, too.

Etoile, your tattoo's are great! Bunny, yours is just too cute for words.

Here's mine:

ohh Chicklet, I like the placement on yours! That is about where I think I want to get my little bunch of snowflakes. Just haven't found the right snowflakes yet.

Thanks for sharing!

it's a great place because it's very easy to cover up if I don't want people to see it, but also very easy and not at all lewd to show it off = )

Geez Etoile, did you consider getting it done in STAGES?
LOL

'course my problem with your tatoo is that it makes you look like a Viola and I want to finish that by sticking some needles in you & running strings along them :D

wow, i had no idea that so many of us bdsm'ers were inked! great art everyone, it's so cool to see people's tattoos! it says a lot about you (or at least, it should)

Etoile - Great tat. I was wondering... why'd ya have to get totally nekkid for a tat on your back? Or did you just feel like doing that?

My tat is kinda small and boring on my right hip. And not one to show off to Mom that's for sure.

It may be small but it certainly isn't boring!!! Do tell how you ended up choosing that tattoo? That must be quite a story.

:) Thanks

Well my nickname used to be Polarbear. And when I was on IRC I used Polarbare. Which was also part of this nickname. So I wanted a polarbear tattoo. Plus I identify with that animal in many respects. It's my favorite wild animal.

So when I was searching and searching I couldn't find anything that really did it for me. THen I found that picture on a webpage... and I just knew. :) It's only about 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches in size.

I'm gonna do another tat on my left bicep when I reach my weight goal. I'm still designing that one.

And I may go further and get one on my right calf... but no ideas on what that will be.

Wow... that's really really really really really really really nice... *gawkes* i can't wait to see it with the rest of the design as you mentioned....

!!!!

You showed everyone on Lit before you showed me???

LadyHeart (recalling instructions to have it in her inbox and then not seeing it when she returned to town)

erm, well, you went out of town and I had no one to show it off to! I couldn't help it <g>

I was going to email it but that was not as fun as showing you myself :)

We'll discuss it later, along with that cigarette. :)

I've had always regretted not getting a tattoo in Singapore from Two-Thumb Tommy when I was in the navy. I guess the guy had two thumbs on one hand, but did beautiful work and was regarded as one of the best in the world.
