OOC: I'm new to this forum, but not to roleplaying. This fantasy was inspired by a beautiful young doctor I ended up seeing a few years ago. Unfortunately, I only got to see her a few times and always when the office was very busy.
IC: The receptionist showed me to a waiting room and told me that Dr. Summers would be with me soon. It was already early evening and the halls were practically deserted.
The middle aged receptionist had whined all the way to the room about the nurse who'd called in sick today. I sighed, letting myself relax after holding back my desire to explain to her exactly how I feel about people who can't accept their problems and get on with their job.
If she were my employee, I would train her properly. I hope that her attitude isn't a sign of a poorly run office. I doubt it, since Dr. Silverson's old nurse told me Doctor Summers was the only one working overtime to help take up the slack after the accident.
Dr. Silverson had been my family doctor for over twenty years, since I was twelve, and I was shocked to hear about his fatal auto accident when I called to verify this appointment. I suppose I could have postponed, but I always try to get a physical before travelling, and I certainly couldn't postpone the business trip next week.
The door opens revealing a striking young woman in a white jacket...
