I finally have a digital camera, so I think the time has come to have a thread here where I can post a few pictures...

I am still learning to deal with the camera, and with photography in general, so of course any advices are very much appreciated...

This first one is taken in my dad's apartment. I know it is a bit dark, I hadn't at the time I took it figured out how to change the ISO yet, and it was quite late in the evening...

Interesting photo :)

Here's a site with some basic tutorials on a few different topics within photography. I found some of them helpful once upon a time InFocus

Looking forward to seeing more of your work :)

thanks... will take a look at it tomorrow, when i am a little less tired...

here some more... it always fascinated me, what the neighbouring houses look like through my bathroom window...

Two more pictures of things seen through a window... This time autumn-coloured ivy leafs... What interested me was how the structure of the glass made them look more like a painting...

Tomatoes on my balcony, a few weeks ago when there still were some. These two pictures belong together... After a long night in front of the computer, that's why I was awake for sunrise, not already, but still, hehe...

Beautiful pics so far!! Which camera did you get? Love the first one which you took in low light. Some of the digitals have a special setting for dealing with low light without using a flash, thus keeping that warm cozy feel and minimising the graininess and sometimes blurring.

hi! glad you like them!

I have a Nikon D70... Yes, am starting to figure out how to change the settings for different light conditions... these pictures I am posting now were all taken a few weeks ago, but soon I will add some newer ones... Over the holidays it was more family pictures though, and I am not sure they'd appreciate me posting their faces here...

and a few rockign horses and double basses...

Here is a sunset pic

I like digital cameras but it takes a while to get used to them. I use a Pentax ist with a 70-300mm tameron telzoom lens. Three months ago I hated this camera becuse I wasn't able to get the pics that I could with my older point-shoot. But if you take my advice....read this book "Digital SLR Photography Solutions" by PC Magazine. It explains the settings in your camera in English not just a techno-definition.

Here is my contribution of a sunset shot with my zoom lens. Hope you like it. (BTW: be carefull about taking a picture directly into the sun like this...because of your camera sensor and more importantly because of your eyes.)

These are great pictures!

I love the tomatoes. I had vines growing on my porch railings this summer, and there were still tomatoes there until last month. (The weird weather here.) I would have never thought they could make such beautiful pictures!

I love the leaves, too. You have a gifted eye.

Du bist eine begabte Fotografin. :rose:
Nur der Anblick der Blumen macht mich etwas durstig... ;)

danke... aber durstig? so trocken waren die doch gar nicht...

here some views over the roofs, into the sky... (with antennas... i thought in the second picture it is interesting to just show those and the sky... and i liked the light in the first...)

Loved your pics. I am insanely jealous now that I know you have a Nikon D70. I've been meaning to buy that once I have a job and get some money... but until then I'm jealous.

Oh, thank you, Munachi. That really made me feel better.

Liked the pics though. The second one better than the first.

At first sight the flowers looked a bit dry.
Never mind my old eyes...
I like "leafs5" most.
How do you say "ein bißchen mehr Tiefenschärfe" in English? :rose:
