My mom phoned me this morning, and she told me that she was going to the hospital to get some tests done. The Carbon Dioxide levels in her blood were high, and the Oxygen levels were kinda low, so the doctors wanted her to come in for more tests, and some special care. That is all I knew this morning.
This evening, my grandmother called me, and told me that my mother had been transferred to a different hospital by ambulance to get the proper tests done, and that some of the tests showed up as affirmative. The doctors believe that my mom has blood clots in her lungs. This is potentially very dangerous.
My mom will be in the hospital for the next few days, under the care of doctors, and a very cool nurse, as well as my dad and my grandmother (who was a nurse when she was younger). She will be receiving blood-thinning drugs by IV, and is also receiving oxygen, as the oxygen wasn't reaching her brain properly.
My mother is a fighter and an optimist. I think she'll be fine. But it's scary knowing that she's got something so serious.
Please pray for her, send her good thoughts and well-wishes, whatever you believe in.
Thank you for your concern and prayers.
