- She starts to get tired of all the dicks, so he markets her to women.

I like it. The first chapter can be an "origin story," and subsequent chapters could explore the various lines of work that you list. The possibilities are endless.

But I'd be sure to include at least a hint of incest in every chapter, or people are going to get pissed off. It's like Chekhov's Gun - if a reader sees a mother and a son, they are going to expect some fireworks.

Sure, but I've got to write it first! I'll give you a bit of what I was thinking about to see if you are truly interested in my ramblings. (I would still write it anyway assuming I could pull it together.)

I was going to say that things like social media, the Sexual Revolution, "feminism" and so forth - often cited in the "manosphere" as the sources of our gender woes - are more like the latest symptoms rather than the causes. Those didn't come out of nowhere. What has been going on in the last eighty to two-hundred years - depending on where in the world you are - is the transition from the previous 10,000 years of agricultural societies to the globalized, urbanized, technological ones we have now.

It may seem great because we now have cell phones, the apparent freedom to do whatever we wish, and other aspects of modernity, but it has become a trap. Now we have few if any real-life connections to anybody. Our freedom is really that no one is left that knows or cares what we are doing anymore - we have become anonymous and atomized.

It took a number of generations for this to catch up with us, and now we are seeing the results. One thing that I was going to cite was that dating apps have become the biggest and fastest-growing way for people to meet because that is mostly what exists now. If you look at what people are saying online about these apps, they have been been a disaster for both men and women. One can swipe over dozens of profiles a day and it's mostly meaningless.

One further bit: birth rates, and thus populations, have been crashing all over the developed world. There is a reason that fewer people want to get married and have children. One source has stated that on a farm, children are an asset because they can be put to work. In a city, they are mostly an expense for years or even decades. That's another thing that took several generations to catch up with us.

If you read my post just above this, all this is regrettable but there are reasons for all of it beyond the usual perversity of human nature.

I was going to mention that one of the first waves of feminism was in the 1840s. What was going on then in the United States? The first factories and railroads, the growth of cities, the use of steamboats, the invention of the telegraph, the earliest use of photography, the first waves of immigration.

Incels, progressives, Loving Wives, Republicans and Democrats, pathetic men, unaccountable women, the supposedly spineless boys - those are all symptoms.

Lovecraft68, you seem to have no sense of historical time; you seem to be completely stuck in the present. Look around your house, then look at the streets outside. Most of what you will see didn't even exist until quite recently. Don't you think that has an impact on what people think and do now as opposed to what it used to be like?

To pile it on: in 1822, outside my apartment, there was no Metro-North Railroad, no Bronx River Parkway, no Woodlawn Cemetery. My street, if it existed at all, was a dirt path. In fact, there was no apartment or any apartment buildings either. The Bronx (it wasn't called that then) was farmland dotted with villages. Manhattan was up to about Houston Street at best.
