My rather hectic life style - living in two cities, traveling, music, motorcycles, 3 sons (an infant too), and a huge Irish clanlike family all over the East Coast.....

Does not lend itself to proper time to "take care of those little things" - like cars........

I've been having car problems with a virtually new (just barely off warranty though) Chevy Blazer. 7 trips to 3 different "we fix car institutions" - one a dealer, one a world famous tire chain - AND - over the past two months - finally, at the 4th such institution, operated by a famous, radio/TV mechanic to the stars - I get the truth........

I needed a new motor - 6 grand!!!!! 6 grand into a vehicle worth 10 grand on the wholesale market?????

I sold it. Got a new (hey, a warrenty!) car!

So far - paying off my bike, two vacations and having to buy a new car - my vacation has cost us - let's see - about $24K.

Man! Now that's an expensive vacation.

Go Greyhound! You can scare little old ladies and use the fun toxic bathroom in the back.

Hi Cat.

You off today?

Don't have much time - baby sitting.

And yes - sex has been good.

What is the point of vacation if not to be

:p

yikes you'll have to work for a couple of years to make the money up ... anyway hope you had a nice vacation other then that :)

*Screams* Noooooo! And I thought you were perfect. *sigh*

Hey, I only go by facts my love..

my Nova.. I had to put out of her misery not long after I got her..

my Blazer.. just like Sparky, engine after engine after engine...

My dads Ford has lasted since I was 7.. and is still running strong.

and my Topaz (Escort), still running strong even after 2, TWO! totals.

hmm.. Chevy? Ford. Chevy? Ford.

:p

But I adore my Beretta (Which is currently sitting in the driveway in need of enginework)

HA!

just kidding.

to each his/her own, ya know?

I do miss my big honkin' Blazer over this ridiculous Barbie car Kia I'm driving though.

It is curious tho how both my Chevy's went through shitloads of alternators, and my other vehicles didn't.. things that make ya go hmmmmmmm.

And then you do things like this.... you know thats a prerequisite for my family dont you?

Well.....

I actually got pissed (once again in my life) at American Autos in general. This incident has soured me once again.

Here's the scoop. This Blazer was supposed to be special - very low mileage, almost a gift from a very good, long time family friend. Fully loaded too - just like new.

I was tepid though. I did some research and - there are actually tens of thousands of S-10 Blazers happily skittering across the country. The Vortec V-6 "is" a very good motor. I did tons of research and went into chat rooms looking for trouble. Nothing indicated any of the trouble I came to have.

The mechanic who diagnosed the problem - was amazed that a Vortec with such low mileage gave up the ghost.

It was a fluke.

However - I have happily returned to the Japanese for my autos. And now have a new car warrentee with it too.

Almost went German but - just didn't get the right deal.

I could tell you a thing or two

about those car warranties.

One hyphenated word:

Rip-Off.
