I'm fairly new in town. Out of a bad realationship. I decided a fresh start was needed. Picked a city on the map and moved there
I found a nice apartment in a mid sized place, so not 100's of people but more then the 10 was at my last one.

I've gotten moved in, and supposedly the interenet was hooked up. When I asked the manager he told me a neighbor of mine was kind of the local IT guy for complex.

I stand outside his door. Thinking this is crazy. But at least I'm not a slob today. The weather is warm so wearing a pair of khaki shorts. I am 5'4 with what I'm told is great shape. grey eyes and light brown hair. I keep playing with

Knocking the door, waiting for him to open it

When he does I introduce myself. Him I'm April, just moved in a couple doors down. My internet isn't working and I was told you're the man to see

I have lived in the area for a while, I work part time as a service guy for the local internet provider. The old phone company from back in the 80's or so.... I also run a computer repair company full time out of my house... I am 41, short brown hair and blue eyes with a solid but thick frame. I was wearing a old college basketball jersey and pair of athletic lose fitting shorts while I rebuild a computer...

I smile as the only folks that really come to knock on my door is folks needing service. I get up and go to the door. I smile as the new cutie that moved in few doors down is at my door. I offer my hand to shake her hand and say "Well you know I am Jon, I can do both computer repair and local net connections... Please come in and sit on my couch and tell me what is going on, so I know what tool kit to bring to your home...Is it acting like a bad connection here and good other places, or was it acting up before you moved here?" *I open the door wide open and gesture her to come in* (we have the same house lay out)

"Nice to meet you Jon."
Following him into his living room. Having a seat on the couch.
His setup looks the same as mine, two bedrooms off the living room, one of them he's setup as some kind office to work on computers and things.

"I arrange for the provider to come in with the modem and connect my system. Unfortunatly he just dropped off the box with instrustions. Supposed to be easy.
But I also upgraded to fiber. I work from home and needed the high speed connection.
I followed the directions but no luck getting online
There helpdesk was useless could barely understand the tech. Got the feeling he though I was just a woman, find a man to do it. Which pissed me off. But here I am asking a man to help"

"Anyways it's probably something simple, if you could help I'd appreciate it"
"I get reimbursed for service calls, will need a receipt"

pausing
"Sorry, just dumped all that onto you"
"Can you spare a few minutes?"
"Have to warn you, not totally unpacked yet, so it's a bit messy"

I smile and nod while saying, "Tell you what. I will set up a wireless network from my home network for you, while I fix your home network now. Yes I will be glad to come over, as long as you get comfortable what you would wear at this time....I understand you are still moving in, so no need to worry about how messy your place is ok?"

I go to my living room closet and grab a wireless receiver, and the tools I will need for installing the box along with running any lines in threw the walls to have a wall outlet to connect to....

"Great!!!!!"
when you mention getting comfortable. I remember I'd promised myself a shower

"Can you give me like 15 minutes? I need to do a few things first"
"I'll leave the door unlocked, just knock and come in. My setup is like yours my office is the 2nd bedroom"

"Thanks again"

I leave and head home. figuring a quick shower and then comfy clothes.

I've finished the shower and getting dressed when I hear you knock

"Come on in, I'll be out in a minute"
slipping into a pair of lounger pants and a oversized t-shirt

I nod and say sure I will be over in 15 minutes... I smile and nod at hearing where to go...You most welcome, I am glad I can be of help,..

I wait the time and then knock but come in as told....I go to the computer and set up the wireless network off my home network... Then I slip under the desk to pull the wires down getting it ready for use... I cut the old dsl line and clean that hole... I now am laying on my back to push the wire out of the house....

I finish getting dressed walk into my office. I don't see you at first, then see you're on the floor.

"Did they do something wrong???"

I hadn't realized he'd have to go under my desk. I had a few things I can work on remotely
instead I take a seat in the extra chair

"How long you been doing this?"
"Anything I can do to help?"

I smile and say "I was working with the net company in high school back in 2000 setting up net works and home land lines...In 2010 I got into repairing and rebuilding computers... Please make your self at home, I should be out of your way as you use the computer... Ya they screwed up not running any wires properly, must not have looked really at the order to realize it is not a basic dsl connection... Sadly no there is nothing really to help, other then just do your thing as if I was not here."

"So, been a while for you? That's good, you're one of the few who recognized what will happen with computers"

"Being as this is my home, making myself at home is something I'm working"
"I think I'll continue unpacking though"

As I walk out, I'm thinking a nice looking guy, but way too early for me to think about another relationship.
I move into the kitchen unpacking dishes and silverware

"Ok if I turn on music? I listen to country"

Ya you can say I been doing this for a while.... Glad to hear you will make your self at home... I was more meaning you could have sat at the main chair and not the side chair... Ya unpacking sounds like a good idea..

I hear you ask about turning on music and you listen to country... I say OMG, I LOVE COUNTY... country gal shake it for me, time to have a boot scooting boogie..... (being a dork with 2 country songs name)

"Well thanks, but it's not that big a desk, and until you get me back on the internet. I can't do anything but play solitaire :)"

LOL " My country gal shaking it days are behind me!! Pun intended"

"How long you been living here?"
"It seems like a nice place. Is there a pool?"

"I know I did a quick walk though, but was in kind of a hurry to find a place"

Well you do have the net now. You are on my wireless network till I get your network up. It is ok looks like there is plenty room for you to be at your chair and me under here... Dang if you ever want to hit a Honky Tonk with me, you sure look young enough to shake it still like the song say "I am not as good as I once was" but still get it in us to go for it....

Ya I been here for a while. I like to go to the YMCA to really swim, there is a small pool for the complex if you just want a dip to keep cool... Tho I do recommend the complex gym.

"Ohhh that's right you mentioned it"
"Ok, I do have to check my emails, but don't let me kick you ok?"

Sitting down at my desk, glad I have at least shorts on. I get into my email, and soon deep engrossed in it.
my feet moving around until I find a spot, not realizing they are pressed against you, like a warm footstool

"Isn't the YMCA for men only???"
"I do like a deep pool, if I can dive!!"

"A Honky Tonk??? You asking me out on a date???"

"Maybe one day, sure"

YMCA is for the family, way back when ya YMCA was men only as I think the female one was YWCA but that was before I got into going there... You can dive in both pools, tho the Y has a full sized pool where the complex pool is like 20 feet by 20 but good 10 or12 feet deep.... I smile and say if you want to call it a date, I would not object tho we can just go as friends to have some fun, I think it would be more fun to line dance with someone you know then bunch of strangers tho doing it with strangers rocks, that what I love about line dancing... Can go solo and still have as much fun as with a group...

Oh ya I like to hit the gym late at night, it is open 24/7.

(I feel your feet on me but do not say anything)

"Ok, I may check it out, once I get settled in"

"Same with the Honky Tonk, go as friends of course. The last thing I need, no offense is a boyfriend"
"Just got out of a relationship, decided on a new start is best for me and voila!! Here i am"

"Fun with a friend, sounds good, with a couple of drinks thrown in"

Wiggling my toes without thinking about it

I would also be glad to hit the pool or gym with you as a friend... I can get you in the Y as a guest if you want to check it out with out paying for a membership.. Oh another place I find helpful is Sam's Club, to buy food in bulk...

*I think to my self do not get distracted with her feet even tho she dose take good care of them*

I get the wall outlit connected to your computer but do not have the wire running from the pole yet... I got what I can do at night...

I ask "Do you want some company to hang out with you tonight? I am willing to help you unpack or what ever... I got what I can get done tonight for the box."

*I think to my self I hope I did not just blow it to be near her feet.*

"Sam's club??? I'm not that big a eater. Just a local grocery store and a liquor store and I'm a happy lady"

"So is it fixed or do you have more to do? A wire from the pole??? Didn't the internet company do anything???"

"Company tonight, sure if you don't mind. I've got most of the unpacking stuff done, the is my clothes, and I've got to get a dresser for that"

"Do you drink? I have some wine or some harder stuff"

Well yes I buy bulk but brake it down into meal size... So like a box of 40 burgers, I brake it down into 10 containers of 4 1/4 patties is 2 burgers for me..

Well I would need to get on the pole and run a wire from the house to the pole... Tho at night it is a bit more risky putting the ladder up on the power pole in the night time...

I got a spare dresser, I really use it as a table in my room.. I can bring it over for you if you want it... It is a classic oak dresser..

Sure I would love a good irish coffee or screw driver.... Otherwise I am good with tea also...

"You must have a huge freezer and like burgers a lot!!!"

"Climbing up a ladder at night, not a good idea!!! I'm just surprised you'd have to do that"

"Let me think about the dresser, like to see it. and see what is out there. Thanks though that is sweet"

"Ok, I don't have Irish whisky or orange juice, if you have some of that you can make a screwdriver"
"For me I'm making a Manhattan "

"Been kind of a rough day and need more then a tea to relax"

I do have a up right freezer that is same size as a normal frig, and for the burgers.. That is a double patty on each bun, so 2 buns... That is 10 days worth of burgers... So every 3rd day or so I grab a container for the pound of burgers...

Ya I agree the ladder and power poles at night, is not a smart move. But you got my wifi for the night, so you are up and running in that area...

Sure no rush on the dresser, I got it as a set and I only really use the small end ones, so the big normal sized dresser I do not really use... No rush on checking it out. It is a basic dresser that is light wood color... About same color as the desk here...

Irish whisky is coffee with whiskey... I never had a Manhattan, I am up for trying that..

Ya moving is hard on the body, I would be willing to give you a message. I hope that dose not sound creepy tho...

"Every 3rd day??? I never eat like that for me it's open the fridge see what looks good"

"Maybe later tonight I can look at the dresser? Right now don't want to open another box or bag" :)

"The only Irish coffee I've had, was with Irish whiskey soo"
"If you're not picky on the whiskey, I have Rye or Bourbon, your choice"

"A Manhattan is Rye with sweet Vermouth, could be done with bourbon, but I prefer the bite of Rye"

"I'll pass on the massage thanks. Thinking a hot soak in the tub after a bit, and no you don't need to run the bath"

"So are you a work from home person like me? Are there more of us here?"

I smile while still on the floor as I talk to April while her feet rest on my side..

I say "Sure no rush, later tonight, tomorrow, next week, when ever you get free time to swing over. I could get one of the little side ones too if needed, they are about the size of a tray.. Good for storing small things like socks and what not in it....

For the whiskey I think Rye would go best with coffee.. The Manhattan dose sound like it would be fun to try some time..

Well yes and no, I work part time going out to folks homes when on the clock with the communication company, and my computer repair is based out of my house but half my calls is to someone's house as it is often software problems like removing a virus or stuff like that.... Now I do take computers home if I need to upgrade the hardware like adding more memory and stuff like that, or building one from scratch... So sadly I do not get to work from home as much, and yes there is allot of us out there that work from home now a days...

I suddenly realize that you're stay laying on the floor, and even worse I'm resting my feet on you.
"I'm so sorry, I should have let you get out from under there!! And even more sorry I was resting my feet on you!!!"
God, how embarrassing

"Let's sit in the living room, I can the drinks there, much more comfortable"

"Sounds like you have the best of both worlds though, getting out for work as well as working from home"
"For me it's all work from home, that's why the internet is so important"

"Maybe someone has organized a get together for us WFH people? At my last place we would have lunch in a community room once or twice a month"

I smile and say "No worries, I am accustomed to working on the floor. Sitting or laying on it, as most folks like to stick there towers in the leg hole area or to the side of the desk, then if I am doing wiring work it is almost always down low near the floor... Not to sound odd or anything, with how you take care of your feet it was kinda relaxing to be honest *chuckles at the crazy sounding of it*

Yes please lets move to the living room, it would be better to really see you as we chat and drinks would be better there then at the desk I bet... *chuckles*

Well if you ever want company, I am often home by 7pm if I get calls for working on home computers. Otherwise ya I am home off and on all day depending what the work load is like...

That sounds like a wonderful idea to see about booking the community room for a get together like that...

"Ok, well to be honest it did sound a bit odd"
"Glad you like my feet though"

after we are on the couch.
"Ok, so in and out until 7pm? That's not too bad"

"I usually start work around 8AM and work until 5ish. But some nights I burn the midnight oil"

"It was just something that people at the old complex had done. Us WFH'ers can get kind of shut in if we're not careful"
"Nothing formal a BYOB and BYOF that got share usually middle of the week, so it didn't run too late"

"So it's settled if either of us wants some company the other one is just a door knock away??"
