These aren't art quality photos, but my back yard is a natural artform. I love it:

Note that killer swing (15 feet tall)! Hubby built it for me.

I like to keep the environment back here natural...more like a park than a perfectly manicured garden. There are dusty areas on the ground for birds to roll around in - it's good for them (and my outdoor kitty loves it!
), a firepit to burn trash in...we use the ash in our compost beds - which are dressed with shredded leaves. A lot of weeds are left to grow in out of sight areas...they contain nutrients that wildlife feed on - piles of brambles and fallen branches to give shelter to small birds from owls and hawks. Once in a great while, we see a hawk thwarted by one of those piles. The biggest is to the right of the firepit, under that large Forsythia. There are black raspberries growing all along the fence behind the firepit! Yum.
In recent yrs, I've learned that burning trash harms the environment by polluting the air with even more hydrocarbons...so we burn much less than we used to. We'd been trying to save on landfill pollution (garbage dumps).
