Amelia had always loved Charley. Since they met in grade school, she said he would be her husband. They grew up inseparable, always together. Even though Amelia wasn't his first girlfriend, she did take his virginity. Granted, it was the summer of eighth grade, the red-headed lass determined to lock him down. Amelia did just that. From eighth grade, even past college, they were a couple to be reckoned with. Amelia was on the Dance team, a Cheerleader, a member of the Show Choir, FTLA, and even FBLA. She sewed a lot of costumes and loved odd lingerie. Granted, it wasn't a full passion back then, but now she was building an empire. Kitsune Clothing was her brand, small but growing. What didn't last was the marriage plans with Charley. They pair remains together, though in a friends-with-benefits sort of arrangement. On paper, they shared a Brokerage firm, a house, a bed occasionally, though they couldn't marry as Charley noted Amelia loved him, but not in the same way. Charley accepted this,s and the pair were free to do as they pleased romantically. Though Charley and Amelia would eventually have a kid. Recently, they were trying.
Also, it seemed that a blast from the past was arriving. Charley's kid sister was showing up. Though only a few years younger, Amelia had always loved her. Amelia let the younger woman call her Amy, and only she could use it. Charley wasn't allowed ot call her that, only her parents and Charley's sister. Amelia often teased the girl, flirting here and there. Once during the just outta college scare, Amelia, finding herself not pregnant, got drunk and did a bit more. She caved into her urges, kissing the girl's lips and neck as her hands wandered. More would have befallen that night. Only a phone call stopped her. Feeling unsure about it all and a little bad for the groping and kiss, Amelia kept her mouth shut and never mentioned it again. Thankfully, Amelia and Charley had moved into an apartment near campus. These limited interactions made the red-haired beauty contentedly go away when the family came across country.
Now, though the prodigal sister returned. Amelia had stalked her online. Thankfully, it wasn't too weird as Charley never thought to reach out to his family, so it fell to her. Charley, his parents, His sister, and his younger brother Luther were all under her purview. This meant just keeping up with the family, but also sending presents and congratulatory messages to them. So Amelia knew before Charley that his sister and his parents would call and ask if he and Amelia could house his younger sister. It was New York, and Charley's Old Westbury residence meant they had plenty of room.
What was sad was that Charley was on a business trip in the city, so he left it up to Amelia to greet her. Amelia wondered if his sister had any relationships. She kept up with the lives of Charlie's family, but that wasn't something she sought to find. Did she have a boyfriend? Girlfriend? Amelia wondered if she should open wine. But thought coffee was better. She waited, she brewed a pot, and sat on the entryway's divan, sketchbook in hand. There she waited in her jean shorts and crew sweater. Read hair cascading down her features. Blue eyes looking over the slight frame on the page, and thought, Maybe I have found my muse.
