My first submission..

I just submitted my very first story on the site (I sincerely hope everyone will enjoy it) and I was just hoping someone could tell me how long it normally takes for them to be approved or rejected. I want to know when it goes up but I also don't want to be checking every ten minutes. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi and welcome, Diana!

It usually takes between 4-7 days for a story to post, but it can take longer. The longest I have waited is 10 days and that was painful.

If it seems like forever (and it will ), resist the urge to open the submission and click "submit" again - that re-submits your story and puts you back at the end of the line.

I got so fed up with checking on my last story that I walked entirely away from the computer for a full day. Consequently, I found out it was up by seeing a lovely comment on it in my hotmail inbox. A great way to find out it's been successfully posted, if you can keep yourself from checking .

Okay, this could easily be listed as one of the longest waits of my life! Thank God I'm going out of town this weekend or I'd probably go blind (no, not from that) from staring at the computer screen waiting for it to change!
