My first story

I am pretty new to letting others read my work so I am mostly wanting some feedback on what you think of my idea.

The main idea is that the beginning is actually the end of the story. It starts out in the 19th century but goes back a thousand years into the 800's. A lady by name of Christina Wellington or Lady Strenton in the beginning is visited by a Lord Foster who in the 800's visited her on her wedding day when she found her new husband having sex with another man. Why he visits her in the 19th century is due to a pact they made in the 800's. She would be able to live for a thousand years looking for her one true love, unfortunately during this time she will be unable to bare children. She agrees to the pact and the man who visited her gains her virginity. Anyway, it will be several writings about her struggle to find love throughout the 1000 years. I will not tell you what I have in store other than that.
If you wish to give feedback please do, especially if you think this would be a stupid idea or something done over and over again.

'Done over and over again'!? Not bloomin' likely! It sounds a very original idea, and I'd be very interested in seeing what you make of it. It sounds fresh, with echoes of old mystery tales and legends.

One thing I must beg of you. If you've got Lord or Lady anything, please don't make up names at random and have them constantly shifting names. Don't call her Lady Strenton in one paragraph then Lady Christina in the next. Make sure you know the rules about names and titles, or if you don't, ask someone. (PM me if you want help.)

It sound so ridiculous if you get it wrong -- like swapping from Secretary Dakota to Senator John of Washington.

Thanks for the advice. I will be calling Christina probably by her first name most of the time. I will try to keep the whole name thing under control and thanks for the interest.

very good idea but like my story re: india it will take alot of reasearch if you wish to have the clothing/undergarments right also the manner in which people speak is going to matter. anyhow I'm a glutton for reasearch so take my advice with a grain of salt. good luck

Similar maybe...I have a lot of different things I wish to discover with this idea. I will be doing quite a bit of research since I will be spanning different points in time in a thousand years. I did look at your India idea and thought it a great idea..good luck to you.
