So I write, quite often and usually alot, the problem is that as one idea hits paper I usually have another form right behind it, while this isn't always a problem it is if I'm trying to write like for my current series.

I wrote 1 & 2 they are on Lit already, then I started 3 and wrote 4, halfway through trying to edit 3 I wrote most of 5 and started 6. See my problem it played havoc with the continuity, most of which I spent yesterday fixing.

I'm not sure if this comes from my roleplay writing as that is fairly quick fire and I can store ideas ahead of time knowing i'll get to them pretty quickly or if I'm just a terrible writer (or have terrible writing practices) that can't focus on one thing til I'm done.

Youre a fraud and an asshole. How many alts you got?

You can discount NOIRTRASH. He's our resident Ann Coulter.

Mine story ideas often bunch up too. I keep a project list running, and when the ideas are bunching up, I try to give them an entry on the list with enough of a note for me to remember what the point/hook of the story was. Sometimes I neglect to do this and the idea escapes. There are always ideas, though, so I just to an "oh, well," and move on.

I do the same sometimes. I'll have a good idea but it won't work for a few more chapters so I'll go ahead and write that chapter. Otherwise I would forget! My mind sucks and if I have something in my head I have to get it out now or it's lost forever.

Also I have bipolar so my mood relates to how I write. If I'm manic I'm writing happy amazing stuff, so I'll work on a happy scene, but if I'm depressed the story line turns dark.
It's something I can't change so I just make it work.

Saaaaame. Years of roleplaying have shaped how I write, and I'm terrible at maintaining multi chapter stories so I've been sticking to what I'm good at and doing 'one shot' type stories.

If I do want to do a multi chapter, I'll probably have to finish it long, long before I even think about uploading it, to make sure I'm not going to drop out and go chase after the latest shiny thought running in my brain.

I have so many WIPs sitting in my folder right now, just waiting for me to flesh them out. Sigh. C'est la vie.

Yeah I know. I'm currently writing what's going to turn into a very long chaptered novella ( which seems to keep getting longer as I keep thinking up more scenes both erotic and for character development ).

But then just yesterday I just thought of a short story centered around comedic events leading into an unplanned three way. I'll need to write it out, but it'll have to wait.

Problems.

Oh I totally get the roleplaying been a huge part of how I write, especially from the days of MSN when it was a constant thing of story telling and writing by the seat of my pants. I kinda miss it as my writing was so much better back then. I still write for that universe but it’s more fantasy blog and so doesn’t drift toward the erotic so much these days. (Maybe I grew up a little?)

Anyway yea I tend to start something then an idea will spring up and as Omnislash said it’ll go into a pile with a quick note on what that idea was or I’ll write as much as I have in that moment then fit the rest around it later, but man sometimes I come back and nothing just an idea on a page with nothing but words and no more I hate those days :(

As for the defence of my username, so far as I know I am the one and only and original, have had the UN for a long while and variances of it before but always with part of it in some form or fashion, I dont do alts least of all here where I want all my work under one name in one place.

The one I’m writing now has been written in the order of 1 then 2 then 4 then 6 then 5 then 3, sort of bounced around til the timeline made sense, so at least I know how this series ends, and somehow managed to open up the line for a spin off as well, something that is very rare for me to do outside of my roleplay writing!!

I do admit I’m glad to know it isn’t just me that has this though, makes me feel a little less traitorous to my writing.

I have the same problem and do the same thing as a lot of you do, as I try to write I'll think of things that wont fit in the current story. I keep a second tab open titled next chapters and notes where I write down my ideas for my characters future adventures. I know myself well enough to know that if I don't write them down I might forget them.
