My email is fucked up! Grrrrrr

You are contagious, Miles! I hate tech support!

I just spent two hours with the online chat help from my ATT email address- 3 different people had me do all kinds of things to try to fix it. One folder in one email address seems to have had its own Chinese fire drill just for laughs sometime early this evening. The names of each email sender do not match the actual email contents when I open the email, and the dates are all out of order instead of chronological! Of course, this is the email address I use for Lit that is fucked up. Kind of hard to answer an email from "A" when I open it and an old email from "B" is there instead.

The 3rd guy to help me finally put me on "hold" and went to do research. The answer? Their server is messed up! It should take a day or two for them to fix it. In the meantime, if you don't get an email response from me (although I'm going to try) to an email you sent, now you know why. Be patient with me, please.

Lucky I gave up killing tech support people for Lent, isn't it?
 
Reminds me of calling to complain the ISP is down and being told "Go to the web page for information." Well duh, ya rocket surgeon, if I could do that would it be down?

Good luck, Cheyenne, I still have a little while to figure out what I'm giving up for lent. I'm leaning toward pubic hair. ;)

I'm a little more calm this morning than I was last night. I THINK my email may be back in business, but I also know I lost some of the email that was there that I hadn't answered yet.

Hmmmmm... I may be able to use that excuse for awhile. "My email box was eaten instead of me and your's was one of the emails that disappeared."

The really irritating part is that the very first thing I asked the first person from customer support was if they were having any problems on their end. Now if their server is having a problem and sending email folders out on Chinese fire drills, I can't be the only one having that problem. You'd think they'd already KNOW about it and could have told me it was them, not me. Especially since they said it has been happening for a few days!

Anyway, maybe a few of you can send me emails to see if my email is back up and running without jumbling itself up? Thanks!

The Hold from Hell

Sooner or later we are all left there. Ears numb. Quick, change ears so you don't miss them and they hang up. Transfer, no I don't know the extension of the party i'm calling. What do you mean my call is important to you? Who am I?

Yep - the "Hold from Hell" should have a time limit and when it is reached they are charged $! per minute for wasting my time. Oh you need billing. Hold please!

hehe... I get upset when my toys are broken or taken away from me. And email is a big toy! ;) Thanks for the hug- hugs from you are always welcomed. :kiss:

So far, email seems to be back and working. Thanks to those of you who sent me the emails to help check it!

And Privy? Can I have more than just one :kiss: please? :)
 
It is not working correctly AGAIN! Now I can send email (but not see that it went through) but not receive it. They can't tell me if any email sent to me in the meantime will be delivered later when the glitsch is fixed, or if will go off to cyber heaven never to be read by me.

ARRGGGGGH! Now I have an excuse. If you sent me any email after late yesterday afternoon, I didn't get it.

LMAO! I guess I really AM the same here as in RL.

I've always been of the school that swearing so much shows a limited vocabulary and limited intelligence. I just don't swear that often, so when I do, it has an effect on those around me. Comes in handy when I want to grab someone's attention in RL!

We are :)

She opened her eyes for about three minutes.. and tried to look at each of us around her bed. AND when my aunt asked her a question she ever-so-slightly (blink and you'd miss it) nodded her head yes.. we got so excited! And she's yawning now, she never did that before when she was heavily sedated. Things look awesome :D
 
Good, glad to hear it! You deserve a break or two in all of this.
Can she have flowers? Take her some so that she sees them if she can open her eyes again.

Time for me to get moving. I have the day off and have lots of stuff to get done around the house that I didn't do over the weekend. It's less tempting to stay online without email working, anyway!

Hey, number 500 on my thread bitching about my email? LOL

My feet are killing me. I spent the day cleaning my bedroom closet, finding clothes I haven't seen in 14 years in some cases. The pitfall of having a nice big walk in is that there is plenty of space before it is jammed. Mine is nice and roomy once again. :)

Just taking a break to check email. It seems some stuff is starting to come through slowly, but it certainly isn't fixed completely yet. :(

The mail servers are processing the backlog of e-mail in queue, but this will take some time. Due to the intermittent nature of the problem some inbound e-mail may have been rejected.

When the note from me that reads a lot like a marriage proposal arrives... just pretend it got lost in the glitch, eh? I thought my sending was down and was just um... pretending... yeah, that's the ticket -- pretending. Nothing on the internet is realy anyway, right?

Cheyenne: I have att as my isp and as one of my emails and i get about 20 e-mails per day at att and i haven't had any problems, so i don't think it's a problem throught out the att system. i also use three other e-mails just to try and avoid this type of thing, but my e-mail at mail.com has been down more than any of the others. no this doesn't help you but there may be some others out there that have att that can tell you if they are having a problem. i am in arizona so i don't know if that would make any difference in where you are located. if it's their server then that should not make any difference. any chance that you received a virus that messed thing up?

It is their server, but it doens't seem to affect all the customers. The note I posted above was the official service bulletin at the ATT site. The email is getting to me eventually, just in no particular order compared to when it was sent. There could be a 12 hour delay, or it could get to me in 5 minutes. No pattern to it at all.
