My dream for porn

I was thinking about a possibility for a new kind of porn. Specifically same sex porn. I was gonna put a little bit of a spin on some ideas that have been done already, or maybe this has already been done and I just don't know about it. My idea would be to find a couple, same sex of course, willing to be on a blind date. Their date would be paid for entirely, as well as a room in a nicer hotel. The jist would be to watch the two people interact, see how their feelings, or lust, develope for one another, and if the date really takes off, follow them back to the hotel room for another show entirely. ;) Of course this is only an idea. I don't have the personal means to do such a thing.

Why do such a thing in the first place? It seems to me that many people can't look past same sex couples having sex. I would love to be able to show the true feelings of falling in love and genuinely being attracted to the other person. Hetero couples have blind date shows all the time. I want to show that kinda response with same sex couples. Well, that's the idea anyway. My concern would be whether or not to produce, since I'm only dreaming I'll say produce, episodes in which the couples do not make it back to the room. In my mind one episode would be a full date and the events that follow. *cough* The hot steamy sex. How well do you think this idea would work? Would it have a following? Would it maybe clarify some ill thinking? It was just a thought. I more or less wanted to see what other people thought about it.

I kind of like this idea - I don't know if it work or not but I do know that I like to watch people who have a genuine connection make love - nothing sexier in my opinion - well, other than doing it yourself of course. :)

That sounds pretty interesting. I haven't heard of anything featuring an actual date, but I think it would be hot. One particular gay porn company I know of is doing a so-called "reality series" where they show a lot of footage of their stars doing stuff together, like partying, going out to dinner, playing sports, etc. I really love this because personality is so sexy to me. I think knowing the guys have friendships and emotional connections makes it way more exciting. I mean, I know they're gorgeous and hung, but are they smart? Do they have a sense of humor? These are the things I look for. ;)

If you mean a TV show featuring gay couples on a blind date, nobody would ever be willing to sponsor it. I don't believe any major networks would be willing to show it either.

As for leading to a sexual encounter: Two young, personable, handsome gay men would want to go back to the hotel for sex, unless they were actually hostile towards each other for some reason. There wouldn't need to be any spark or chemistry; as long as there was a physical attraction, that would be enough.

Long time no speak Rik-a! BIG

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but it's been done and done again a thousand times over. If a tv show, then your first mistake has been posting here, and no offence.

Since gay reality tv only have a certain percentile of the market, and a very LOW one, especially in America, the only way you could pitch it is by sterotyping and therefore there must be comedy and a wider accessibility to the general market. (Producers want money) One thing to remember (aside from the impotance of copyright and checks) is that reality TV is all about the selling point and that equals gimmick. ;)

From experience, I know that an intellectual property lawsuit can cost upwards of 1 million, and producers are a shady type of creature, especially if you pitch it to one as an inexperienced person like yourself.

Your first step is to research the idea. Has this exact thing been done? What is similar and how does your idea differ?

Your second step is to not ask for opinion on a PUBLIC BOARD, BUT IMMEDIATELY get the paperwork toether to copyright it.

Subsequent steps are more complex.

On the really bright side, I am not sure that any "narrative" has been written about such a topic. ;)

Good luck, babe. :rose:

This idea is more if I had my own production company. A private lable, such as Private or Hustler, and create my own type of pornography. Not so much for the general public, as I already have a vague notion of how well that would go over. As for exact idea, I do recall hearing Howard Stern say that for his new satelite station he would create his own lesbian blind date, of course with hot steamy sex after the date. I figured his would be more comical and strictly to help others get off.

My goal is more of what Miss Scarlett said. Sure, they are handsome and hung, but do they have a personality? Can we see the connections that are being made on a human and spiritual level? If such a thing has been done, please share. I'd love to see the exact material. The more I thought about it the more I realized that to sell, in all practical sense, the "failed" dates would have to be left off the reel. Failed in this case being dates that did not lead up to sex. Perhaps if a second date ensued then a recap of the first date could be issued. This stemming more from a sheer pornography sake. I just grow tired of seeing him fuck her in vairous holes, him suck him, and her lick her. I gotta know there is something more than sheer physicality when two people are together. I know in today's day and age there is, but it seems harder and harder to find genuine interest in sex when it comes to pornography. The problem lies in that these people are getting paid to do a job, and that's exactly how it comes off. The act is mechanical, repetative, and dull. It's a job. I think a fresh approach to the act of sex would be much welcomed. I say same sex couples with this idea, including women (somehow all the attention seems to be on the men), with a small hope that a curious individual, whose not sure of what may really interest them, would gain a braoder understanding and perspective of what being a same sex couple is all about.

I haven't really thought about gathering up paperwork and copyright terms. I wouldn't know the first thing about that. As for doing some research into the matter, I may just enjoy that aspect.

You aren't alone in thinking that most porn goes nowhere near depicting the great delight of sex between people who have some kind of connection.

You might enjoy Tony and Peggy Comstock's work -- I like this from a recent interview that Tony did with Eroszine

"From a director's point of view, it's about making a character-driven film. While lavish by porn standards, our budgets are still very small, even when compared to independent film. With our very limited resources, the documentary-style approach we use is the easiest way to create compelling, sympathetic characters. If I don't have characters I can empathize with, then the sex is just badly choreographed dancing, and about as interesting to watch. But when I feel like the characters on-screen are real people having a real emotional and sexual experience, then the sex becomes interesting and exciting. I feel like I'm watching something that matters."

Ok, while they're hardly pornographic and aimed at the 18-21 and younger demographic, MTV routinely has same sex couples on their blind dating shows.

I think the Comstock's nailed the type of feeling that I was going for. Something more emotional and character driven. I loved how, in the interview, he said that he doesn't like his films being "porn" because there is a negative, dirty connotation behind the genre. He feels, like I do, that sex is a beauty that should be enjoyed, not something to be cheapened down. I'll have to look into their work more. Thanks for that information.

My pleasure rikaaim, I've unashamedly been prattling on about the Comstock's films for a couple of years now :) . I figure that I'm not going to being making any porn in the near future and the only way to get a hold of something I do want to watch is to support the people who are making it.

You might like Thomas Roche's comments on the film style.

You should check out "Girlfriend's Films." They shoot real women having real sex, not porn-perfect blow-up dolls faking it. I have had some contact with the studio's spokeswoman, who shared the following:

"As you may have noticed, we don't stop our scenes once the sex part gets underway. The women are totally on their own and the success of a scene is up to them. We strive for reality and don't want to interrupt the their focus. This lack of direction results in an occasional 'oops!' but does let the girls do what they enjoy and, in nearly all cases, have real orgasms.

"Before we make a scene our director and the girls discuss what sexual activities they enjoy most and what they dislike. Afterwards the girls often remark that they forgot anyone was in the room - we love hearing that! We use only women who are bi-sexual or lesbian."

When they shoot only two staffers are on the "set" (usually somebody's real bedroom!) - not a big film crew.

I could see Girlfriends doing something like this, but here's my question: What if the girls don't hit it off and don't want to fuck? To capture what you are after it could not be "a sure thing" - there must be suspense and uncertainty. However, you can't very well have a film crew standing by for hours, even if only it contains two members, with the chance that nothing happens. Given that the goal is to film porn, that is a tough hurdle.
