It was with great interest I read your missive on our latest election.

A person should have some idea of what they are talking about before pontificating about a subject.

First, with the exception of one major newspaper, the media supported the Conservatives, so your 'liberal media' dig is unfounded.

Our Supreme Court is like yours, chosen largely for their skill at jurisprudence rather than their party membership. They do not, despite your protestations, set public policy.

And having seen your picture, your dig about us being 'hedonistic' is a bit much. Someone who is as obviously fond of fine food and unfond of exercise as yourself should be careful about the epithets he hurls.

So, with all due respect and affection, please light a stick of dynamite and shove it up your fat ass.

Sincerely,
rgraham666

That has to be the most garbled, full-of-hearsay, piece of supposed political assessment writing I've ever read. Very confusing, and not a little like a gossip column, with a lot of whispering in corners going on.

I've mentioned the man before.

He holds a great deal of responsibility for the current chaotic and vicious state of American politics.

Back before the internet, he was the right's premier direct mailer.

Direct mail is a lot like spam. Rather anonymous and there are no limits in what you can say in it.

By saying things that were often outright lies, and directing them at people likely to believe them, Mr Weyrich heavily contributed to the often toxic political climate of America.

Why does that not surprise me??
I think we can safely assume that he's a hero to our beloved Ami ??

Kinda like the crap the so called "Sweden Democrats" (aka the Neo-Nazi Party) shove in my mailbox whenever I'm running low on toilet paper.

Say what you want about them, but they've got impeccable timing.

there are a few nutty things, reminiscent of amicus, about the marxists, leftists and 'hedonists' (amicus' nihilists and subjectivists).

on the whole, the assessment of the power situation and the future is not bad. Harper is limited in the neo-right program he can institute. IF he has finesse and savvy advisers, he will establish a working majority on some key issues. If the nutbars come out of the woodwork and use the Conservative Party platform--literally--then he'll fall.

OH--isn't it amusing that the US wacko right was asked to keep quiet and not endorse or celebrate! that might have given the game away!
