is getting beyond annoying. She gets in there at least 20 times a day and scratches, scratches, scratches.. then never does any business, but then wipes her paws on the sides of the thing over and over. The other day I caught her dragging her but across the floor... lol... I'm not kidding, it would've been funny if I wasn't so damn appalled at what I was seeing.

I think my cat has a shit fetish. Where do I go from here?

heh

it just might be the litter you use hehe. Or she really believes those fresh step commercials. Maybe she takes a fresh step everytime she smells something :p

She may have worms, leading her to feel like she always "needs to go" that would also explain the dragging her butt across the floor. If you didn't have fingers how would you scratch your asshole when it itches??? That's how cat's do it.

At least yours doesn't sleep in the litterbox like mine does.

I started out putting those plastic liners in the litterbox before pouring in the litter, but in 5 mins. flat she'd have that thing turned inside out and litter all over the floor.

Now, the butt-dragging thing just floored me. (laughing) I've seen dogs do that out in the yard, but I've NEVER seen a cat do that ever in my life and I've owned many many cats (not as many as Laurel, but we can't all be Queen Cat Rescue Woman of the World) and never once have I seen that happen.

She also has a water fetish. She loves water. Actually hops in the shower WITH you while you're washing.

I think the person above is right. Sounds exactly like worms to me. Take her to the vet hon, before you start finding broken off worm pieces on your floor.

Ick!

Are you finding any pee in the box or is she straining to go and can't? Does she lick herself a lot right after she gets out of the box? She could be sick. Crystals in the urine cause the cats to go in and out of the litter box literally that many times a day or more. It is more typical for male cats though to have such problems, but it isn't impossible for females.

The dragging the butt on the floor though does sound like it could be worms. Is she an outdoor cat or indoor only?

She's had all her shots, been de-wormed, had the ear mite medicine and she's been inside the house since birth. I've never seen any worms in the box, but come to think of it, she's always had an unhealthy obsession with the litterbox.

And Ezzie? She does sometimes just jump in there and relax for a while. I'm telling you, it's not right.

And, thank you sun, for that wonderful bit of imagery. heh

you sick puppy.

And, btw.. my ankles are better. (you'll get that when you read my post on your other thread)

Just a note.. my kitty has been inside her whole life and ended up with worms. The vet said that they can get them from fleas and mice. I did not have a clue this was possible.

Cats have some sort of glands in the anus. Sometimes they get blocked. Maybe that's her problem? Definitely worthy of a vet trip. (they'll need to be squeezed)

Or you could just have a psycho cat.

This happened to mine when she got older. If you catch it early it is much better for the cat and the carpets. Only thing is, they can block up again. My vet wanted to teach me how to do this but I figured I didn't really need to know. It didn't happen that often.
