so i have this cat, and while i was away at college she got in the habit of sleeping on my bed. now that i'm back she is (not so graciously) sharing said bed with me. the last few nights she has been acting very strange.

usually i'll pick her up from the middle of the bed and put her down on the corner of the bed near the pillow, then i get under the covers and she walks all over me until i'm properly "tenderized," then lays down on my feet, or curls up next to me. however, lately she has has been getting under the covers of my bed. after i get into bed she butts up against my arm until i lift the covers, then gets all the way under them and curls up between my legs at about my knees. the first time she did this i thought she would suffocate or something under the blankets so i tried to fold them back so she could get some fresh air, and she dug her claws into my thigh! when i put the covers back over her she relaxed and went to sleep.

cats are strange creatures.

She loves you lexie...I think she would have to be mildly insane not to...

I love that when a cat walks on me...and if it didn't make me sneeze and cry so much, I'd like it even more.

Lexie, just remember, cloth isn't air tight, you can breathe through it, along with all the gaps around the human body. She was probably cold, or was just reassuring herself that you were still there. Cats are odd creatures, but they're wonderful to have around.

Yes, cats are a little on the weird crazy side.

My cat is an outside cat so I don't have a problem with him in my bed. But he does seem to love getting into my car and going to sleep.

One time I left my windows open and he must have jumped in and I did not notice him. Well I had an afternoon class that day and as I was driving to the university he pops out from the back seat. I screamed and almost drove off the road but needless to say I had to go to class so I took him with me. I am lucky in that I have a very understadning professor, I just took him into the class room and the whole time he actually behaved ... he just layed down by my feet and went to sleep.

Good thing class was let out early :) ... now I never leave my car windows down.

i like it when she kneads me with her paws and accidentally claws my boob. that's always fun.

The attitude you're getting is just becouse she missed you and kitty kats tend to be a little extreme thus the uberanger/need to be curled up next to you.

I'm guessin'

you're right glam, it always takes a little while to get back on her good side after i've been away

Sorry, what were you saying? I got hung up on the part about getting under the covers with you and burying something between your thighs... or something like that.

she also will attack grapes if you roll them across the floor near her. after a few minutes of vigerous battle with the grape, she will run away and hide behind a chair. i'm a little concerned that my cat has been bested by a seedless green grape.

The Jam does this thing when she wants attention. She'll just saunter up to you when you aren't paying attention, give you the sharpest little love bite you let out a telp and look down to see this adorable little fuzzball staring up at you with huge eyes purring. It just cracks me up the way she does it.

I've been meaning to ask too,Laurel, how are the little kitties doing? The white and black ones and the stripey?

My furry angel does the exact same thing... though she prefers me to make her a "tent" by bending my knees.

I think it is just common cat behaviour!

:D

my cat has been sitting on the window ledge lately however its not really big enough and she keeps falling asleep on it and then falling off ... and promptly jumping back on the window and then falling asleep again and falling back off ........ etc :)
