My car got 33 MPG for my trip to CT

It is almost 14 years. It is a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville that was built in the last half of 1988. The car has 116,000 plus miles on it seats 4 normal sized people comfortably, although I have had 5 small to medium girls and myself fit in the car comfortably as well, and weighs just over 3600 lbs with me in it.

What kind of MPG does your brandnew SUV get that seats the same number of people?


Oh and 33 MPG is low for the car. I got stuck in almost 2 hours of slow/nonmoving traffic in PA and was running the AC more then I normaly do. Not counting the two hours I was stuck in traffic my average speed was between 60 and 70 MPH. The best MPG I have ever gotten was 40.9 during a trip from Tech to Richmond.

i think my '72 chevy pickup might make a 33 mile trip. might make it back too but it'd get about 12 mpg.

My new 3/4 ton truck gets about 30 if i'm not hauling a trailer full of horses. On my vacation, we were right at 12,000 pounds and you could see the needle moving from full to empty.

But, your car can't haul a trailer. Sometimes, a big, gas guzzling vehicle is a necessity.

Yeah I wasn't really refering to people who need a large vehicle for towing or work or for getting around in rough areas. I meant the people who use them to commute 45 min. to work everyday by themselves.

I seat two and get about 18 mpg (premium, no less).

Bah it is a granny car. Great for long distance cruising but not so much on acceleration. The handling is better then before but still not so great I am working on that.


Not sure what its topseed is I got it up to a little over 130 before i slowed down cause I thought it was going to fly apart.
