I've been struggling with a story idea, it's been a fantasy of mine for sometime that I've wanted to put into story form. Unfortunately, when I try to write it nothing seems to work, and I thought maybe I would share the idea with all of you and see if someone can do it better!
Here are the details:
- There's a plane crash with only two survivors, in the version I often fantasize about it, it's a successful movie actor and a young woman who was working on the film, maybe a crew member of some kind like the writer, costume designer or someone like that. Prior to the events of the story they didn't know each other.
- The two survivors are taken captive by strangers who take them to a facility in an isolated location, maybe the jungle or a heavily wooded area. The survivors are imprisoned together and given barely any food or water.
- The survivors bond but find that their captors are strange and cruel, forcing them to participate in sexual experiments on their own and with each other... Despite being attracted to each other they find the experiments humiliating and difficult to bear.
- Either they find a way to escape or are set free, and they must then survive in the wild on their own, one of them is wounded and it is a hard struggle to get to civilization/medical attention.
- The survivors find a small village with a visiting doctor from an English-speaking country, he tries to help the wounded survivor and a love triangle develops between the survivor, the female survivor and the doctor.
- Because either one or both of the survivors is married or taken, they must confront their feelings for each other once they are safe - they have bonded over their shared ordeal and their sexual connection is undeniable, but they are uncertain whether the relationship has potential once they return to their normal lives.
- I'm totally open on the ending, I can't decide what would be best, and I think it would depend on how the characters develop and unfold. Maybe they decide it's too hard to keep up, maybe they return home and find they miss each other or maybe it's obvious they need to be together.
